Had a pretty underwhelming experience here today. It took over an hour for our food to be ready, despite there only being one other table (who ordered, received, and ate their food before we got ours). Then, the order was wrong and an item was missed. The food we got was okay, although the poutine didn’t have enough cheese. Our server was also pretty absent. They never offered to refill our water, and we had to call up the stairs to get their attention. The environment was probably the most underwhelming, with pretty sparse decor and a strange entrance. It didn’t feel inviting or warm.Since I eat primarily plant based and there are few options in the city, I will likely be back, however I really hope whoever owns/manages the place starts to invest in the service and atmosphere.

Original Review from 2019:If you are a vegan or Vegetarian (or are open to plant based food) you need to visit Green Kitchen! I can definitely recommend the Tofu Benny, and the Breakfast wrap from their Sunday Brunch menu, as well as the mac and dressing (with added beyond crumble) from their dinner menu. The food was hot and delicious, the only complaint I would have is that I wish you got more of it! Can't wait to visit again!Update 2021:On my second trip out to St. Johns I needed to come back to Green Kitchen. This time I tried their Black Bean burger on a pretzel bun, with poutine on the side, and for dessert my fiance and I got their cheesecake cones. They had a few different flavours to choose from and we got cookie and strawberry. They were delicious!

I just love it there. The environment is friendly, and reminds you you are in a place of peace and life. The staff just confirms that!The food, though, is what you came for. The comfort food you'd look for but that is hard to come by in vegan restaurants. I just can't have enough of the wings and the nachos! The best chicken burger you'll ever have, even comparing to the non-plant-based ones.All in a business that is locally owned by two women!I love the Green Kitchen, and I can't wait for the next time to go there!

DO NOT TRUST ALLERGEN FRIENDLY PROMISE - EXTREME SAFETY RISK AND EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED in the service and promises made by this establishment. I had full trust that a claimed allergen friendly restaurant would not make such a GRAVE mistake. I had ordered an Easter basket for my partner as she is vegan and has several allergies. I had called this restaurant THREE TIMES to ensure that there would be no peanut butter in the basket. We had driven 8 hours from the west coast to acquire this basket. Once we brought the basket home, there was 3 peanut butter eggs in the basket, not only contaminating the entire basket but putting my partners life at serious risk. Do not trust that this restaurant is allergen friendly and check everything twice as this could have easily been an anaphylactic event. I will never be setting foot in this restaurant again and I will ensure that anyone seeking out vegan-friendly recommendations will steer-clear.

Amazing place to eat! The food was phenomenal. The decor inviting. Just a wonderful experience all around. Highly recommend this new vegan hotspot in the city. Thanks Britney for being so hospitable and knowledgeable in regards to convincing me to try the vegan lifestyle again. I know it’s best for the planet, my heart/ health and of course the animals. All the best on your great business is wished your way. I certainly will be back again soon to try your ‘wings’!!!!

Great atmosphere, great service and the most amazing vegan food you can buy in the city. You need to go get the cauliflower wings, the nachos and the poutine (which was so good that I got right to eating and forgot to take a picture). The cashew cheese made in-house is to die for! Bring your friends!

Where to even begin with this place...everything is plant-based, it’s LGBT+ friendly, and the food is reasonably priced. You’d do yourself a disservice if you don’t get the nachos when you come! They taste and feel like pulled pork!Like, look at this food! A picture can only do so much, but will never do it justice! If you love being adventurous, have dietary restrictions, or love a wonderful atmosphere, come here and treat yourself!
