Very clean washrooms and good showers. This is mainly a camper/trailer campground and the tent sites are quite limited and in lower ground so not good in wet weather. The location is quite good (10 minute drive to the Red Shoe Pub in Mabou, and close to a very nice sand beach just down the road) and is pretty much the only place you can camp in the area. Overall it is very good but wish the tenting sites were better.

We stayed at Cabin 5 and it was immaculate with all the amenities we needed. WE were very pleased with our stay there and plan to go back next year. My only suggestion is you replace the couch with something higher so us old people can sit down and get up easily . They are too low..

The place was clean and accepted us late, which is good. That said, after a night of zero (read: 0) noise complaints, and damaging absolutely NOTHING, they decided not to give us back the damage deposit and said we were too loud and left the place a mess, which we absolutely did not. I can only assume they took leaps of assumption based on our age, and thought they could take the damage deposit and get away with it. If you are under 25 years old, stay FAR AWAY from here. They’ll take a night of no noise complaints or damages and still manage to scam you.

We rented a cottage there last weekend. Absolutely beautiful facility, and is sparkling clean and modern as well. Very friendly owners, and priced right. Quiet, cozy, and very peaceful there with lots to see in the local area. Loved our stay there, and will definitely stay there whenever we get to that area again!!

I stay here a lot in one of the seasonal trailers. I have been inside the cottages and they are very roomy from what I gather. Just a heads up, there are no BBQ’s on site. There is a recently fixed up pool (no diving board), tennis court (which may have seen better days) and other standard facilities. But the people of the campground is what makes the experience worth it...always there to help and have a friendly chat!

Love this area of Cape Breton. Cottages are adequate, 2 BR. If you plan to stay more than a day and avail yourself of the kitchen facilities realize that there are only basics in the kitchen. There is no sponge for the sink, no salt and pepper, no oil or sugar, limited dishes. These are some amenities that would make the stay more pleasurable. There was tea and some coffee pot filters. Cabins and tennis court not as scenic as they once were, having been surrounded by RV spaces. I realize that this is the economic reality of tourism in CB. They also have camping spots and bathroom facilities for campers. With Nova Scotia taxes it was a hair under $200 a night Canadian, summer rate 2017. Office staff was very friendly and helpful.

My wife and I (from North Carolina) are giving Ceilidh Cottages 5 stars because everything was great when we were there for Canada Day 2023. Both James and Tammy are friendly and accommodating. Tammy made sure we were aware of all the activities going on locally and on the property. The other guests were friendly and no one was loud or offensive. The campground and cottages were full. James offered to help us in any way he could, even offering to assist us if we had trouble after we left. Both James and Tammy are genuinely warm and friendly with everyone. They are doing a good job maintaining and improving the campground and the cottages. The RV sites are good sized, and easy to move into. We had a back-in site with FHU. We visited in a 32 foot travel trailer. We will stay at Ceilidh Cottages whenever we are back in Nova Scotia.

I gave this place three stars because it advertises a campground but does not offer any overnight camping.

Our cottage was amazing and we will look forward to going back there again next year to stay even longer. Possibly in the summer instead of the Fall. The owners Tammy and her Husband were very nice people. We really enjoyed our stay there

For trailer/RV, probably great, but not so much for tenting. The smallish tent grounds are low lying, rutted with lots of roots, as well as right next to the gravel road. Nice facilities, and owner, tho.
