Karl Hager Limb & Brace

I have been a patient/client at Karl Hager Limb and Brace for approx 7+ years. To begin, with full disclosure, due to my illness (Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, or EDS). I am an extremely high maintenance patient. I do not simply require a knee brace or a pair of ankle braces. At this point, Karl Hager has provided me with SMOs, AFOs, Lumbar braces, and a variety of neck braces as my neck has a variety of needs. As my illness progresses I imagine that I will require more braces and I fully trust that they will be able to help me.Kevin is the clinician that I have worked with the most closely and I cannot say enough good things about him. He was extremely diligent when working on my AFOs as my ankles and knees are very complicated. He is very knowledgeable as well as creative in terms of trying to find a solution for his patients. He worked hard to ensure that not only did the AFOs do their job, but that they were also comfortable - clearly an important aspect or I quite likely would not wear them. I have also had some fusions on my neck, as well as more than 10 unique stem cell therapy treatments - all in the US, and all extremely costly. These surgeries and treatments are significantly improving my quality of life (going from being able to be upright for 1 hour per day, with a neck brace, to now being able to be upright for over 12 hours a day). All that said, these treatments require specific and well fitted neck braces to ensure that proper healing occurs and Kevin has helped me out several times, making sure to find me the brace I need, even when it is a new or unusual kind of brace that I have specifically requested. He has endless patience, a fantastic bedside manner, and he strives for perfection in his work.In addition to Kevin, I have also found the front line staff to be most understanding when I am booking appointments, especially if something unusual comes up and I need to get in ASAP. My experience has been that Karl Hager operates with integrity, high standards and above all they seek to do their utmost to help their patients. I am very grateful to have been referred to them years ago by my chiropractor and I would certainly recommend them to anyone in need of brace or limb care.

Hugely impressed by the quality of their knee braces and the professional actions of their employees. I've had two sets of braces made for me over the years, and each time they arrived on time, with zero issues. Great company, great people, great products!!!!!!!

I had orthotics done and they excelent quick and efficient they superior phone and desk etiquette the whole staff was pleasant every neat and clean place and lots of parking and easy to find I will once again thank them all for the excellent job they did on my shoes

I contacted Karl Hagar Limb & Brace to locate supplies for my walk aide device. As Walke Aide supplies are no longer available in Canada. Nolan was my contact and willingly checked his inventory for the electrodes required to operate my device as well as a new cuff to replace a 17 yr old cuff. Fortunate for me he filled both my requests. Shipped them to PEI. Upon receipt, items were as expected. I then required instruction installing electrodes to new cuff. Nolan answered my request for assistance with a phone call and very specific instructions to set up new cuff. Under his guidance, very patient I may add, my walk aide is functioning as good as new. Karl Hager clinic is an excellent place that has a wonderful and professional staff. The receptionist and Sama, the lady who handled my request, were friendly and supportive. They are seriously professional in their work and accurately identified my required brace and made that for me. If you want braces designed for sports I highly recommend look elsewhere.Their braces are extremely uncomfortable and cause pain - cheap straps, stiff hinges and old bulky design that doesn't work.I had purple bruises all over my shins and thighs after 2 hrs riding my bike. I tried to wear them for about 2months then finally gave up. Wearing them wasn't safe.Braces were custom made for my legs and now they are collecting dust in my basement as I can't wear them. $3700 wasted.

I don’t do reviews often but boy do these guys know what they are doing. Orthotics aren’t a simple thing and you need to go somewhere very qualified. They go to school for 4 years training to make braces. I feel very confident in my orthotics and how they’ve helped me. I’ve been to 4 places and this place is the best!

The best person on staff name begins with a R and the other a K. One of them is a d-o-g! You decide. The front staff is so busy playing victim that they have no sense of discretion for people’s needs. Their policies and procedures sometimes overlook the obvious needs of the injured. If you re not careful they may even loose your product. However, the employee K does his/her best given the staff atmosphere and if you assert your needs, they will likely get fulfilled. Do not take anything for granted as most but not all of the staff do. It’s like everywhere, those with money benefit in health and wellness. Good luck!!!
