Kanata North Early Learning Center

We've enjoyed our experience at KNELC so far! The onboarding plan was well organized and helped our guy settle in well! They have trained staff that are patient with busy and energetic kids! They take the time to get to know the kids and cheer them on as they hit new milestones. Their curriculum is extensive and they are always teaching new concepts to the kids that are developmental and age appropriate. They have a wonderful outdoor space that I know our child loves! In a few short months our son has adapted well to the centre and continues to learn new skills and thrive!

Our son has attended the center for 2 years now. The staff are wonderful and caring. They have started themed Fridays" and one recent theme was "bring your favourite book." We were thrilled that our son rekindled his love for books since this day. Thank you KNELC! :)"

This place is amazing. They are taking care of my child. I can see the development of my kid in behaviour and attitude. They engage the kids with a lot of activities to develop their abilities. The place is clean and well-organized. Great job everyone.

Our daughter loves it there and the staff are very friendly and take very good care of her. Update 3 years later: our second daughter now goes there and I can't say enough good things about this daycare. Both my daughters love it and the staff are incredibly nice and good educators. Communication with the day care is great and we get pictures of the day multiple times per week with what descriptions of what they're up to.

I was a placement student at this centre in the infant room for 5 weeks and I learnt a lot here. The staff in the infant room was multicultural and very gentle with the children and they had pre-planned activities for the coming week in advance which included creative indoor and outdoor activities as well. I did the placement in the summer so I got to visit a farm with the centre including the infants. I was really impressed that they take so much effort and energy in making the children's life full of interesting experience. Once they asked fire department to come and visit the centre to demonstrate what tools they use and how the truck actually looks closely. They also had planned a day for the parents to come and participate in summer activities and games that they can play with their children. they also had a reptile theme for a week and had called a person to come with the reptiles (which were safe) to show the children. The head staff of the infant room is very passionate about early learning as she was always observing the children and their abilities and would set up activities not just for the sake of entertainment but for their physical and mental growth. She would set up obstacle courses for the little ones to practice their physical skills and would really pay attention to their language practice by singing songs all the time, having conversations with them and getting interesting books for the circle time. I could feel the warmth the staff had for the children and the food they offered was also good. They also clean the floor and the high chairs thoroughly after every meal. I would recommend the centre for sure for the infants!

Do not bring your children here, or work here.I worked here from 2018-2019.I did NOT get paid regularly.The centre stayed OPEN throughout the floods of spring 2019 that affected most of Kanata North. Children were going into the centre while the floors were sinking in. My nephews at the time, were attending this daycare. I had to tell my sister in law not to bring in my nephews in case they would get injured or sick from the flood. Dalia, the owner, said it was “fine” and would rather stayed open because she didn’t want to lose money. They do NOT care about your children’s education or well-being. If you are offered a job here DO NOT take it. You will be begging for your pay check. With MANY mistakes on it. If you are thinking of putting your child in this centre DO NOT DO IT. I could go on, and on about the things I observed and endured. I’m surprised this centre is still open.

My mother worked here for 7 months and they didn’t have enough staff and told my mother to cook food and to pretend to be a chef and wear the chef hat because inspection was coming in. The owner ( Dalia ) begged her to pretend even though she refused. She felt bad for her as she was begging so she said okay but she will tell the inspection this is not my department I am actually an educator. She then called her later that day and said don’t come to work because she was afraid she will be exposed. Also she didn’t give her pay cheques on time. She kept making excuses. I realize other staff also had bad experiences as I read their reviews. Please do not bring your child here as they do not do anything professionally, like they all say. They only care about taking your money. They do not care about your child. If a owner is ready to lie to inspection, why wouldn’t they lie to you about your child. Dirty place, unorganized. By far the best Centre in Kanata! Last year, I thoroughly researched every daycare and service in Kanata and this Centre is by far the Highest Quality.The Centre has a clear and concise structure for child development and each child’s progress is individually tailored and closely fostered. I’ve received incredible collaboration and resources from each Educator as my child is developing. It cannot be stressed enough that the Director and Educators are of the highest caliber, education, and standards. They provide above and beyond the norm in caring for my little one and are regularly a reliable forum to support any challenges I’m encountering as a first time mother.Getting a spot in any regular daycare in Ottawa is difficult but if you manage to find a spot here it’s worth it!

There priority is not the kids but making money. Management is horrible, cheap and doesn’t stand up for kids safety and well being. My kid got hurt at their daycare and their answer was it wasn’t us. Management pretends to be open minded and welcoming but do not be fooled, it is far from the truth.Very high teacher turn over which says a lot.
