Whycocomagh Provincial Park
Lovely little spot for camping went by tent nice fireplace and can buy dry softwood for 5$.The roads are a bit bad but not horrible.Very clean restrooms and 3 shower male and female with hot water.Salt mountain is a nice hike as well but we use the campsite as a stop for the Cabot trail.Tim's Hortons and local co-op for food and meals.Fairly quiet place with a nice viewAnd pet friendly

Their reservation is very quick. I love how the campground was setup, plenty of space on every campsite and is not congested even on a long weekend. A good place to do star gazing activity too. They also have nice trails with beautiful viewing deck.

Whycocomagh Provincial Park
Great provincial park with a few short but steep trails. Park has a variety of tenting and trailer sites. Unlike most provincial parks, Whycocomagh has yurts available to book. These were booked solid when I was there (and likely were from about when registration went live earlier this year). We tented near the cooking shelter as had a wood stove. Super helpful for arriving shoulder season, at night and in the rain.I did not hike the trails but my friend did. We saw some birds of prey flying around the hills on a cool, clear fall morning. Many amenities near by. I'm glad we stayed here on our Cabot trail adventure.

Whycocomagh Provincial Park
Actually a clean and quiet campground. Only 3 stars as we had massive issues with black flies. Certainly not the fault of the site but we could not enjoy.

Stayed for 3 nights in one of the Yurts at the very top of the park, beautiful views! Sites are very well maintained and spacious, only one comfort station that is a bit of a walk to, but there are vault toilets here and there. Roads are in bad shape so drive very slow, or invest in a 4x4. Laundry facilities available, hiking trails offer absolutely amazing views and well worth the trek up the steep paths. There is even a WW I monument you can find up there. Staff are very friendly. Highly recommended.

Whycocomagh Provincial Park
Whycocomagh is a great park to stay in. As like most provincial parks, it's clean and friendly and has some great vista's. Close to a lot of attractions. And a wonderful home base to tour the Cabot Trail.

*COVID-19 Details Below*This is our first time camping at this park. Overall, it's a gorgeous spot, lot's of nature around. Birds chirping, Streams and trails. There are some real nice spots to camp here.We were at camp site 14. The pictures of the site make it seem large and grassy but it was actually small and not grassy. We have a 19ft long tent and it took up a lot of real estate.Bugs! At this specific campsite, the bugs were probably the worst I've experienced. Setting up was a nightmare and to top it off, it was 34 degrees. We used bug spray and they still came out full force. So, apparently they're immune to bug spray. The campfire wood they sell is just dead fallen trees that they split up. So, expect to burn the 5.00 bundles faster than you'll expect. As I sit here we are nearly through the first bundle and we have been burning for about an hour and a half. Buy a bunch.Ice is 2.50 and it's ice, so, that's fine.Covid-19 information: Laundry is closed. Some bathrooms are closed and where there are pit toilets, only one of two is open. Due to their cleaning measures, the showers are surprisingly clean, like, wow.Comfort stations close between 1-3 for cleaning and close at 9PM.Overall it's a really nice spot but bring some serious bug spray if you're in any of the enclosed, wooded sites. Maybe even a flamethrower.
