I requested a 2nd opinion from Kent Employment Law firm, after finding them online. I supplied the same info as I did to an alternate employment law firm - who were also helpful. Lisa responded quickly & setme up with lawyer Fiona McFarlane a couple days later. Her response time was very speedy despite her busy schedule, which I really appreciated. We spoke exactly for an hour & got through a lot of detailed information. Things that the other lawyer didn’t quite manage to do. At the end of our conversation I felt empowered, and I understood much better what the process could be.Fiona went over in detail the other law firms contract, and also described to me what various clauses meant & where her contract or pricing package may differ.As well we had time in my 1 hour apt. to discuss the Mutual Termination Agreement offer which my employer submitted to me.I was really pleased after speaking with Fiona. She took the time to inform me of what exactly the wording on my employers contract meant, where it was to my benefit, why, and where we could possibly do better, & how.As well we had enough time to briefly discuss whatever issues I was experiencing at work. Areas of concern which many women face. I was pleased to learn more about the Employment Standards Act, and where certain aspects of it could apply to my case.Being that leaving a place of work after several years, can result in a huge amount of stress & a great deal of discomfort while still at work, I thought it best to work with a good, reliable lawyer. Someone I felt confidant about & felt I could trust with my best interests.Now how do you find that person?For me, because I work in corporate sales & my belief/practice is that sales are built 1st through gaining trust & building on that trust - I found the same ethic towards my legal concerns working with Fiona.She was thorough, fun, wise & I thoroughly enjoyed what can otherwise be a difficult, nervous & somewhat embarrassing process.I am very thankful for the sound council I received from Kent Employment Law, via Fiona.
