Chartwell Southwind Retirement Residence

We went to visit family in Sudbury and were able to visit our grandmother. We had not seen her since before the pandemic and hadn't been to the Southwind Retirement home before. We were very impressed with the facility and its cleanliness, as well as the service she is provided. We had a lot of questions for her since we had never visited her at the Southwind before, to better understand how she was doing. My grandmother seems to have adjusted very well. She enjoys the food, activities and staff. It was very a very reassuring visit. Thank you to the management for ensuring my grandmother is happy and well tended to.

I’ve been here for just over a month and my kitten and I are very happy to have chosen Southwind as our new home. The staff are very accommodating and make everything so pleasant and enjoyable. I like the food and variety here, you get many choices if you don’t like the main that is being offered. If you happen to miss a meal because of an appointment they’re happy to serve you at your convenience.

Fantastic Job shout out to all the Recreation Department staff!!! As a music entertainer there’s many levels of fine detail to create a great successful event. It starts with good planning and ends with our valued seniors enjoying their leisure hours. I take great pride in saying Chartwell holds there on floor team members and they’re very own behind the scenes management charged with great responsibility. I feel the creation of Chartwell’s activities are true in the moment and sensible. It’s clear they treat the residents (friends) as they will expect to see the next up and coming generation treat themselves. My Mom moved into the Chartwell Southwind Residence in early November of 2022. The people who work there are very friendly and welcoming. All aspects of the move went very smooth and the staff should be commended for this. My Mom likes her new home and the people who work there. She is meeting new friends and enjoying many new activities.

We are looking for a home for an aging parent. Southwind retirement home displays a very warm atmosphere from the moment you walk in the door. Ashley the retirement living consultant answered all our questions with such patience, knowledge and in a friendly manner. The staff and management seem helpful in inquiring about the residents personal needs and trying to make them feel at home. We were given a tour of the facility several times and they were very accommodating.Jennifer the RN was embracing and reassuring during the wellness check.Thankful for a great experience.

After only a few months here I have to say that it has become my home. I enjoy the activities and I find the staff very friendly and accommodating. I have made many friends already.I enjoy the meals, there is a different variety and many options if one does not care for the main course. It is a new way of life and my last stop and I made the right move choosing Chartwell Southwind.When I hear about the many people who are suffering, we Canadians are fortunate to have a nice safe place to thrive and to be happy.

We went for a tour at Southwind and stayed for lunch. The staff and residents made us feel very welcome and comfortable. The food was delicious and made us feel at home. The suites are bright and spacious. Lots of paths to go walking. Great location in the south end.

My mom has been living at Southwind Retirement Residence for more than 16 years, and it truly is home to her. It is a beautiful place and she has a lovely apartment there. The staff and managers have been kind and caring throughout her years at Southwind, often going above and beyond. She has met and enjoyed the company of many new friends who share her interests and has been able to participate in activities when she feels like it, or spend quiet time in her apartment when that is what feels best. She has also enjoyed many, many delicious meals and, as a regular visitor, I have also been fortunate to do the same! In the past month, I've had three lunches and a dinner which I shared with her and everything was really yummy and much nicer than what I would have been eating at home! I've even asked for the recipes from time to time! Making the transition from home to community living is never an easy thing, but I am grateful that Mom has found the home she has at Southwind. She is surrounded by good people who really care about her and the other folk who live at Southwind.

I’ve called Chartwell Southwind my home for 5 wonderful years. I’ve made friends here and we have a real sense of community. I enjoy the meals, there’s many great choices and they’re delicious, my family enjoys them as well. My suite is beautiful and I feel at home here. I love the staff and other residents, it’s truly a family.
