Toronto Central Family Intake

I had made a call to help assist my elderly Father in his early stages of Alzhiemers find housing for a night until further plans could be made. He was evicted from a boarding home due to not completing his taxes and not having enough funds to pay his rent.The woman I spoke with was of the most ignorant, and rude humans I've ever spoken with. Not a great career choice/job for her. Being a nurse, Compassion I know should be top priority in these types of emergency situations. Good luck to anyone having to call intake. I hope they reevaluate their staff.

Slow never anything available

This is suppose to be a Government controlled establishment, it is being run like individuals personal homes for friends , families and other activities. There need to be an investigation as to why there are numerous Canadians on the streets looking for a bed at nights and central intake keep saying no beds available. PLEASE GET AN INVESTIGATION GOING. VPQ

5800 Young St., congratulation, All the stuff makes so scary jail here I waking up in stairs and talk with my family the supervisor Yelling me and just bully me and laugh solve other person kind of racist. I will add another picture which is show all the employee are black and they hate white people over here for example, he wants to I leave from stairs and no care if other person attacked us in the shelter, because the supervisor And other employee bully us I’m gonna add some picture of the stairs for example to see what’s illegal I did hear to supervisor Threat me for discharge

I called this location to ask if they can offer me a stay with my children and they refused. A women asked for the reason why I want to stay in a shelter, and I told her that I have a death threats from my neighbor, I already called the police but meanwhile I feel unsecured to stay in my home. She directly told me that there is no available space plus she cannot help me until I provide a letter from the police stated that I am in danger. This is very disturbing, very frustrating and very injustice. I hope nothing will happen to me or my children, and if anything happens I could be safe if this shelter would helped me. Thank you

The wait times are kinda outrageous, and you don’t even get a place to stay! So, it’s like your calling a friend to tell about your issues for them to write it down and on to the next!

Although the customer service is overall decent and compassionate in nature, given the nature of the work , the system itself is quite flawed. For instance there never seems to be any availability and are always asked to call back in a. Couple hours. For the individual stuck with no alternative this is a huge hit. Then when and if spaces open up at the Toronto shelters and hotels, unless you somehow can autodial the number every minute until the time suggested to call back, it is given away. Anyway some things the governments at all levels can work on. Otherwise it is pretty straightforward for the most part and some of their staff have truly been amazing and helpful.

The first time I spoke to the intake worker the worker was very kind and she helped me a lot. Although she told me the next day to call and when I did i ended up getting a male who was quite rude...overall though the staff are very helpful and polite
