The Hotel is very old and poorly maintained. The fittings are mostly cheap.After staying there for few day, I started developing stuffy noses and coughing; and checked the ventilation system. The AC is very poorly maintained. The filter is so dirty and it might be producing lots of bacteria.Besides the toilet keeps on flushing unless you adjust the lever to a certain position.Just wondering how city is allowing such wastage of water. They should have some sort of inspection to prevent such wastage.But the location is very convenient and close to shops and trails.

This was a great location for the itinerary we had for our stay. The staff was a pleasure to work with, was very informative and just a pleasant at check out. The rooms were clean, spacious for the price and quiet, even with our room being right on the street.Close to amenities you'll want and a short drive, bus ride to any where you might adventure.

This is a very old hotel which desperately needs gutting. I agree that the front desk staff were friendly and helpful: the first room we were assigned smelled terrible, the refrigerator didn't work, and there was food in it (!). We returned to the desk and they assigned us another room (an upgrade, I think, since it had a little kitchen table). This room was ok... the nasty hotel" smell was less and tolerable

The hotel is a bit shabby and outdated but the pros outweigh the cons-much quieter than a standard multistory hotel. Can't hear traffic at all. Can hear upstairs neighbours if on bottom floor-great location with easy access to Capilano bridge, Squamish, Whistler, Grouse Mountain-easy access to bus that goes right downtown-perfect pool for kids ages 8 and up, only 4' deep-very comfortable king bed plus loveseat in the bedroom can be used for a small kid-pull out sofa very uncomfortable-self-serve breakfast is the same daily, waffles, yogurt, cookies, breakfast sandwiches, juice. Kids enjoyed that juice was accessible all day

Overall, decent for the price paid. The rooms were comfortable and had a decent amount of space, the bathroom was good, and the location was nice (and free parking).The only downsides were that the pool / sauna were not on yet and there was no gym. Also, the breakfast was very simple - just a grab and go muffin, cookie, granola bar, fruit.However, despite these downsides, the hotel was still great for the price, and we had a good night sleep.
