Shute Balanced Dog Training

Did Jason's training classes with our dog. They were phenomenal. He trains both you and the dog - and both are equally important. We also brought Jason in for some additional 1-on-1 training because we wanted to have off-leash control and recall and the tools and guidance worked beyond my expectations. Can't recommend enough.

Hands down 5 stars! Jason's training methods and his approach to teaching is amazing. He has such a vast wealth of knowledge and shares it in a simple, straight-forward way. I took both his Novice and Intermediate courses and they were the best investment I could have made for myself and my dog. It has strengthened my bond with my dog and taken our relationship to whole new level of understanding. Moving forward I am grateful for all the tools I have in my toolbox and I'm eager to sharpen those skills as I continue training. Taking the obedience courses and the daily homework from class was a lifesaver for us with a new (re-homed) puppy in the house, especially one with such high energy demands. He needed a job and Jason's courses provided us with exactly that. The first course is tough, but essential to lay all the groundwork. The second course was awesome and just a ton of fun. If you do your homework, you will reap the benefits over and over again. It was a pleasure to work with Jason and I highly recommend taking his courses.

We’ve taken our dogs to multiple trainers for different skills and Jason is by far the most kind, honest and helpful person we’ve encountered. His instructions were always very clear and helped even the most difficult dogs in our classes learn very helpful skills. We definitely have the most well trained dogs in our social circle, everyone always comments on how impressed they are with their skills. We go back to him regularly with questions and he is always so quick to respond and help us, we are so grateful to have met him!

Jason's approach to training is both professional and relaxed and he is able to put both the dog and their human at ease while working through challenging issues. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable, he has a genuine passion for what he does and a love for dogs that shines through with every interaction. He has helped me on numerous occasions with my dog, both through private training, as well as most recently, through his novice training class. He has helped me develop the tools and knowledge to work through a variety of behaviours ranging from extreme separation anxiety, leash reactivity/pulling, as well as training obedience through hand/foot/voice commands. Training with Jason has made my bond with my dog even stronger than it was before and I highly recommend his training/expertise to anyone who wants to learn how to enrich both their life and experience with their dog.

Don't blame them

I am so grateful that Jason made it to our little town in the Philippines and we had the privilege of a whole weekend of training, tips and insight into our dogs and their behaviour. I was at my wit's end with Champy, our 1-year-old daschund mix, as everything I thought I knew about training a dog didn't seem to be working and she was causing us 100% stress and no enjoyment whatsoever. Our weekend training workshops with Jason debunked a lot of the common myths about dog training that I was following to no avail, and he gave us some really helpful and positive ways to move forward, as well as a lot of insight into why dogs behave the way they do and how to work with that rather than against it. I would absolutely recommend Shute Balanced Dog Training to anyone who loves their dog but feels for whatever reason out of sync with them and their bad habits. From the moment I met with Jason he was patient and understanding to my situation and heard me before offering his wisdom and knowledge. He taught me that obedience and control can lead to freedom. My reactive dog is now so much calmer, confident and balanced now that he can look to me as a leader. I used to walk in fear and stress with my dog and now I feel nothing but love and have been able to take him for hikes and walk by the river and populated parks, introduce him to new people and dogs(something I avoided for half a year) I feel excited when faced with challenges because I feel in control, and each day gets better and better since meeting with Jason. He’s changed my life around as well as my dogs and he really believed in me when we met. HIGHLY recommend!!!

Great training experience. Jason is straight forward and teaches a well structured and easy to implement system to train your dog.

Jason is absolutely an amazing trainer. He actually teaches you how to train your dog and gives you all the tools you need to have an amazing relationship with your dog. We had a lot of trouble when we first got our pup and everyone has advise" and "opinions" it wasn't until we went to Jason that we were really able to understand and connect with our dog and it has made everyones life happier. We still use Jason for little issues and tips as our lives change and our dogs life changes. Would recommend to anyone. 10/10"
