Top Crop Garden Farm & Pet

As a local you might take it for granted the opportunities and amenities that are here. I went to Top Crop with my friend who lives and works in Vancouver as a gardener and her opinion and perspective on the store, its contents and the service, was extremely positive. Prices were good, products were great, and the service was excellent. 5 stars for small town excellence.

Great staff who always help out. Highly recommend year around. Especially during spring time!

Top crop web page is terrible very difficult to find what you're looking for. As for the business it's self it's a good place to pick up your garden needs

Bought a few pots and soil and Tim helped me with that. He gave me a lot of good advice and was also fun to talk to. Great guy

If I could rate this business minus 5 I would, which is unfortunate since up until now I would have rated Top Crop as a 3 to 5 star business. For the first time I had a problem with a purchase and was extremely disappointed by the owners unprofessional rejection of my claim. I purchased a 100 foot by 4 foot roll of landscape fabric which was marked as having been UV protected. After installation I had to wait three weeks before I had mulch to cover the area but the fabric disintegrated (literally turned to dust) within this less than three week period. When I drew this to the attention of Top Crop I was informed that the owner would not replace the product, indicating that it needed to be covered with mulch immediately upon installation. The product does't say this and other landscape fabric I have used is still solid after years without cover. I understand that UV will shorten the product's life but given it was marked UV protected and had an over 15 year life it is clear that this product was defective ... it hardly lasted 15 days never mind 15 years. I have shopped at Top Crop Cranbrook for over ten years and spent almost $4500 this year alone. The response from the owner to my concern was not only disappointing and insulting it was also a confirmation of the mean spiritness of this business. The product was either extremely inferior or it was flawed ... I'd like to think it was the latter since I always felt that Top Crop provided good quality product. If it was the later, I would think that a wise business would want to ensure that they didn't sell more of it and would rectify the situation with their supplier. Given that this purchase represented less that 1% of my spend at Top Crop this year I'd suggest that treating a customer this way is very short sighted ... since Top Crop has a local monopoly in some areas I will be forced to continue to buy from them but I can assure you when I have other options (and there are other options in much of their product line) I will go there. So ultimately Top Crop will loose a lot more custom than the $40 this item cost not to mention the negative publicity any time someone asks me about this business. .

I was tempted to buy my irrigation equipment online, but choose to go to Robert at Top Crop after all. Prices were very comparable and the service was simply outstanding. Super good experience. Thanks so much.

I would just like to say how amazing of an experience I had, I am novice to say the least I know absolutely nothing about plants, I was looking for some English ivy to hide an ugly shed, every single person I spoke to in the garden centre was so helpful and so kind! There was a lovely English lady who helped me pick out Virginia creepers she made sure I got the nicest looking plants rather than just giving me the three that were all together, the people at the till gave me tons of advice on how to take care for them. When I was loading another man gave me advice on how to transport them so that the wind didn’t beat them up. All of the plants in the garden centre are beautiful, full and lush. Everybody that worked there seemed to truly care.

We bought a bunch of trees from here and they said they came with a 1 year warranty if any were to die “and one of them did die” so we submitted pictures at there request all other trees are doing great obviously there was something wrong with this one and they voided the warranty because we didn’t buy dirt from them what a disgusting way to get out of your own guarantee so here’s a warning if you buy trees here and they die they will not cover them like they say they do very sad way of doing business just my opinion but be careful paying the higher prices when the warranty doesn’t mean a thing
