We are over the moon happy with our new doors from House Smart! Every employee we worked with from this company was helpful and friendly, and the results are beautiful. The new doors look better than we’d hoped. I would highly recommend House Smart. Thanks again!

Overall it has been a pleasure to work with House Smart so far. Here's the story so far:A few years back we replaced all the windows in our house with new Vinyltek windows. House smart did not do the work, and the company that did is no longer in business. We wanted to install a new window and make it look exactly like the other windows already installed. House Smart was willing to take on this project and did a great job in general, accommodating our wishes. The installation crew was also great and worked well together... like a well oiled machine.There are only two problems:First problem is that the top window inside wooden casing trim had 3 screws which stick out and just look annoying to anybody with ADHD :-) But we can probably live with this. Also, the window sill is done slightly differently from the existing window sills. Again, annoying but we can probably live with this.Second problem is that after a rain storm -- a few days after installation -- the window streamed up / fogged up on the outside. Please see attached photos. Not sure why this is happening. Doesn't happen on any of the older / existing Vinyltek windows. Am not keen on living with this as it makes it look like we have a grow op in the house or something :-) Have contacted House Smart to see what they say. Will update this review after they have responded.Update: Home Smart did get back to me quickly. Seems like you can never predict which windows will steam up. Even in our house 25 existing windows don't stream up... But this 26th window does steam up under certain circumstances. So adding on a star because it was unfair to deduct a star for this in the first place.

Windows were as ordered and installation was good. We ordered the windows back in November. Due to supply chain issues, our windows arrived in June. In the meantime, I had several interactions with their staff suggesting that the windows had arrived and to be ready for install. This occurred 4 times. Twice I adjusted my work schedule to accommodate. In addition, due to the length of time to complete the work, our blinds ordered ended having to be rescheduled 3 times and due to new Canadian rules, we now have to spend more for the largest window. I was informed by one of their managers that they would correct the final price for all the inconveniences however, I’m the end, the owner of the company refused. We got so sick of dealing with them, that we paid in full to end the situation. We were always reasonable and fair with their staff but the last interaction with their managers have left us unsatisfied. After paying in full, the manager dealing with our file called us the next to apologize and offered us a reasonable solution which we were happy about. Despite the lengthy wait for the windows, I would still recommend House Smart. Bryan was my main contact. Thanks

I recently needed some help with home repairs to my vinyl siding. It was a small job which some of the other companies wouldn’t entertain or were booked up on larger jobs till January 2023. Ryan made an easy assessment online with a photo I provided. Shortly after, Jeff came in person to write up the contract and Chris came the following week to fix my siding. I would highly recommend this BBB rated company for quality, reliability, and friendly service.

Great experience with House Smart.Pricing was very reasonable for our A/C unit and they were very patient with us while we waiting on our Strata to give approval for the install. Once we got the approval, the install was completed within about a week!The install technicians were friendly, efficient, and were able to answer all of our questions

Caveat Emptor (Buyer Beware)I am shocked to see the positive reviews of this company. This was not my experience! I did notice one review about the window trim being not recommended and I fully agree.We were told the new window trim would not require regular painting for upkeep and it sounded very good. It starts to go downhill from there. The price quoted had to be revised once an installer came due to different sizing. Once installed it was noted that the white was a different colour than the window frame….and we were advised that the colour was as close as they could get (pictures attached). There was not much choice at that point for us, as the old trim was gone. We were never advised of this colour variation during the sales presentation. They were put on with staple gun and some nail holes were filled, many not…and that doesn’t matter as they were filled with the wrong colour paint (picture attached).A screen was removed from one of the windows that was not being done and never replaced. (We did spend over $25,000 having most of the windows in the house done). I have called and enquired about this and was told they would reimburse up to $50 for a new screen, which I had to source myself. Investigating this, I discovered that the cost would be up to $200 for service call, screen cost and installation and advised House Smart. I was told to go to a local place like Rona or Home Depot and buy one….and was requoted in writing (email available upon request) that they would reimburse “up to $50”. I am not a window or screen installation expert, and found this advice daunting.When the windows were installed some of the labels were left on the outside of the windows. One of the windows was the large one on the front of our house. When I called to ask for it to be removed, the receptionist suggested that I remove it myself. It was about 12 feet up, and I told her that was not something I could easily do…Thankfully, it was taken care of, but not without having to insist upon their help.Sadly, we spent over $25,000 with this company and expected a professional job. Now I have window trim that doesn’t match, a missing screen and picked up so much garbage (snipped silicone container caps, pieces of stucco, nails, saw dust in our garage, etc.) it was ridiculous.We are hoping that the actual windows we had installed will live up to expectations, nothing else has. From our experience we now worry about those, so we give a two star rating.The first two pictures show the difference in colour and the fill of nail holes….and this is the finished product. I now have to hire a painter to come and paint this trim that was “easy upkeep”.The third picture shows the missing screen.

Wonderful Product/Wonderful Experience! We just had a large window installed in the master bedroom (doing renovations!) and it looks fantastic! The works was done quickly and professionally and the results are amazing. Glenn, the salesperson was a delight to deal with (no pressure!) and when we told him our long term renovation plans he took the time to explain how House Smart could do the work even though those sales would be a couple years away! Our neighbor (retired House Appraiser) had all his windows replace the year before so I knew I could trust his recommendation and House Smart did not disappoint.

I had 28 windows, and 5 doors replaced and am very pleased with the results. The staff are all very courteous, professional and friendly. Very eager to satisfy their customers!!

Bryan at House Smart was an expert consultant. He really took the time to learn what we wanted. He was patient and came out multiple times to ensure what we were ordering was what we wanted. He offered solutions and showed us the samples and went over photos of past work. Jason the Lead Installer and his crew were all wonderful and professional.
