Recently, Dana has become known across North America for her work in underwater maternity photos. One of the only maternity photographers in Calgary or Okotoks who has developed an extensive underwater portfolio. She is comfortable shooting in a pool or a lake or river. Her newborn portfolio is very unposed and documentary in nature. She is more focused on your connection and the emotional images that you will come to enjoy for generations. This organic approach makes for less pressure on the baby to perform and allows families to just enjoy the photography session. These sessions can happen in your home or in Dana's natural light studio in Okotoks. Known for her quirky and documentary approach to creating candid pictures, Dana has recently begun bringing this style to weddings in Calgary, Banff, Canmore and Okotoks. Her philosophy is 'have camera will travel'. This love of travel can be seen through her extensive gallery of destination photos which includes locations such as Iceland, India, Honduras and Belize. She is equally comfortable in the mountains or in an urban location. With lifestyle photography as a focus for close to 10 years, the obvious next step for any photographer is taking on commercial and corporate clients. Some of her commercial clients include Triple Flip, My Mila, and Rebel Bean Roasters. She is open to commercial clients who wish to collaborate with their photographer to achieve the best possible results. Dana is a leader in modelling, acting, and headshot photos for children clients, but is also open to doing corporate headshots as well. More than 10 years of photographic experience has given her an edge on her competition. In 2010, Dana was named the first ever International Child Photographer of the Year by the NAPCP(national association of professional children's photographers). She has since gone on to judge their competition, as well as, the German National competition. Dana has presented at the NAPCP retreat in Whistler and the Canada Photo Convention in Vancouver and Toronto. Available for travel worldwide for both educational purposes and family sessions.
