We had an enjoyable tour today of the heritage village. The young tour guides did a very professional job explaining the story behind the families of the community. This is a must visit to learn the family heritage & how they lived.

Very interesting historical site. Beautiful architecture from long ago, awesome staff. Well worth the visit.

Wonderful tour of this heritage site that shows how life in an outport was for rich merchants in the old days. A must see. Better than the heritage site in Bonavista. Restaurant on site and a gift shop with local crafts and home made bread and cookies! Highly recommend.

The Barbour village and Newtown have that combination of scenery, heritage buildings, traditional homes that bring one back to historic Newfoundland.

Great place to spend the afternoon, have a few laughs, and learn a lot about rural Newfoundland history. The food at the Olde Shoppe restaurant is great, excellent service and affordable. The waitress made me feel like I was their only customer, when I definitely wasn’t! Tour guides are excellent at what they do.

We enjoyed every aspect of our visit to the Barbour House. Our tour was excellent (the tour guides - teenagers - coped quite well with the fact that we had seven young children with us!) and informative. It was so nice to see teenagers and young adults actively involved and informed about their history.Our meal at the restaurant after was delicious, and the staff accommodated our large group with ease and kindness. One of our servers even took my five month old for a few minutes so I could eat my lunch without a baby in my lap!New-Wes-Valley is a beautiful spot, and the people of Newtown are no exception. We thoroughly enjoyed our time, and would recommend it to anyone passing through.

I haven't done the tour and dinner theatre in a number of years but both were very enjoyable at the time. The place is well kept and the staff is friendly. I have eaten at the restaurant a couple of times within the last year. The food was very tasty.The place and it's washrooms were very clean. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly and the view of Newtown was really nice.
