I do not normally go out of my way to write reviews, I normally let my actions speak louder than words.I am giving this organization ZERO stars ( the star that they have is only because I could not post without a star.We received the name of this organization from a friend so we thought we would try it.The application process was extensive. We did not hear from anyone personally, there was only an e-mail stating that our adoption application had been received. We were not familiar with the process. We thought that someone personally would call and talk to us, asking us perhaps why we would like to adopt Little Beeper and Plucky and find out about our family. If the GOAL is to be able to place these lovely pets with forever families then WHY are you not talking to the families! Alternatively, visiting with them in person before you make the decision that effects everyone.Applications asking open-ended questions and a call to a veterinary office does not tell the whole story. When you only get one side of any history this certainly does not give anyone the right to decide that a person is or is not “qualified or fit to be able to give these pets what they so deserve

I was inquiring about a cat a few months ago and I submitted my application and after a few days of waiting I was given an over the phone interview. At the end of the conversation the woman I was speaking to said she would pass everything on to her higher ups and she told me she was looking forward to speaking to me again implying that I had a good chance of being able to adopt the cat I was looking at and told me that if I was approved I would be scheduled an appointment to meet her in person. This was around three in the afternoon, at five to midnight on the same day I received an email from the organization saying that they were not doing adoptions due to COVID-19 completely negating what I had been told over the phone. I tried calling as well as emailing the company only to be ignored. Finally, I decided to message them on Facebook where they told me that it was too bad and they were not doing adoptions and if I actually wanted a cat I either had to wait and reapply; never mind already going through the first interview, or adopt elsewhere. I have never in my life heard of a rescue agency telling someone something like this. Not only had they gotten my hopes up but none of their social media or their website had been updated to saying anything about not being able to proceed with adoptions at the time being because of COVID and the picture of the cat I wanted still had her picture posted on all adoption sites. Despite the apparently being able to schedule an appointment to meet her were it would be possible to maintain a two metre distance where it would only be me and someone from the charity there they said nothing in regards to that (keep in mind plenty of adoption shelters were offering appointments to meet with a specific animals at the time). I felt completely ignored and extremely devastated about not being able to adopt a cat that I thought would be the perfect fit for my family, they simply have no respect or compassion for anyone inquiring and seems as if you must fit an extremely specific criteria to be able to adopt, one of the questions I was asked was whether or not I wanted children and what I would do if they were allergic, I said I did not plan on having any and the woman sounded almost angry as she asked why I didn't which was definitely none of her business, this one only one of the incredibly invasive and backhanded questions I was asked. Thankfully, I was able to find the sweetest cat possible through petfinder on a kitten from Vaughan Animal Services who were very quick to respond and set up a personal appointment to meet her and to answer any questions I had. Please just save yourself the heartache and adopt from somewhere else that actually cares about giving their pets a forever home and respects you as a person.

I can tell you first hand that Rescue Angels is a fabulous rescue that cares about every cat that they take in to help. They go beyond and always do what's best for the cats. How do I know this...I work at a vet clinic that helps the cats in their care. They are very careful as to where they place their foster cats because they want what's best for the cats. I never hesitate to recommend this rescue. I have been dealing with them personally & through the clinic for almost 10 years and they have always been fantastic with the care of cats in their care. Please do not hesitate to reach out to them. Having a rescue is extremely difficult. Please do not hesitate to reach out to them.

I recently submitted an application for adoption and wasn’t successful. I, like many others, who posted their comments here, also went through a detailed adoption questionnaire, provided all the references, not only my family vet clinic but the vet as a personal reference. I, too, admittedly, am an amazing pet parent. I think folks need to understand that just because you spent time filling out a form, or “jumped through hoops”, that didn’t guarantee or entitle you getting a call back or an interview. Would you leave a negative review with a company that you put in a job application for, where you didn’t get a call back or didn’t get hired after a second interview? If you proclaim that you care about these cats, then you should be glad that there is probably a more suitable family out there than yours at the time of the application and they were chosen over yours.Rescue Angels have been around for a while, they probably have seen so much neglect, abuse or owner surrender cases. Or even owners who think they are doing the right thing when they are not. Next time, instead of writing a negative review on a not-for-profit organization, reflect on what you would do if you were in their shoes. These cats are their responsibility and theirs alone. If their process is more robust than others, stop for a minute and think about why that would be. As a pet owner, your responsibility is life-long, for sickness and in health, literally.

I have only good/GREAT things to say about Angel Rescue. There was a process involved to adopt my Big Boy (as there should be). From application processing , to phone calls & questions. I felt they really cared about all of the fur babies in their care and wanted to ensure the same when placing their furry residents. They are very caring and committed, and that’s such a wonderful thing. They do this for the Love of animals. I’m beyond happy with my new addition from Angel’s Rescue , including follow up phone calls with any questions I had.I give this recuse 5++++ Stars !!

A rescue whose name truly reflects what they do. The women behind this rescue always jump in to help cases that every other rescue turns away (including some that have wayyyy more funds), and takes chances on cats that were set to be euthanized due to injuries or illnesses that owners no longer wanted to deal with. And this is just based on my experience, so I imagine they do this regularly! They also go above and beyond to help, even if they can’t take in a cat. They helped me recently with vetting costs for an abandoned senior cat. This kitty had specific foster needs that they didn’t have a suitable foster for, but they still jumped in to actively help. That allowed for this senior girl to be treated for infections and a painful uterus condition (treated through spay). There are a lot of rescues in the GTA, but not all of them do things as they should. Rescue Angels does, though. If you’re looking for a non-profit rescue to support, please consider this wonderful rescue!

We adopted two super cute and playful kittens about a month ago. The adoption process went very fast for us. I filled out the application Monday, did the interview Tuesday, visited the kittens Wednesday and had kittens Thursday night in our home. The kittens were very cared for by the loving rescue angels volunteers. I can’t say enough good things about this organization. Thank you Rescue Angels.

My experience with rescue angels has been great. After completing a very detailed application to adopt 2 kittens, I received a call back within 24hrs and was able to meet my kittens and bring them home less than 24hrs after my phone interview with Zita. She was extremely helpful and very passionate and knowledgeable. She was also responsive to my questions after we brought the kittens hime. Overall, super positive experience with this rescue team!

Disappointing. We completed their extensive application and sent them a copy of our cat’s vet records as reference. They did not even bother calling me for a phone interview, just rejected us without an explanation. It’s a shame for their cats as it seems these people are too pompous to even consider you unless you meet their absurd standards. If you’re looking for a cat/kitten in Toronto try Annex Cat Rescue instead. They called me back right away and were incredibly professional. The adoption process went very smoothly! Their volunteers will even help suggest a cat for you to adopt based on your preferences.
