Planted Aquaria

My boyfriend and I go here for all our aquarium needs. The staff are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, and the plants and fish are well-stocked and cared for. I remember an employee a few months ago who had bonded with a giant betta and really cared for him. It's very nice to see that the staff take an interest in the little lives they care for

Amazing local store for live plants, fish and fish supplies. The owners are extremely friendly and take the time to take care of you unlike some other places. Very fair prices and excellent assortments. Highly recommend.

Came down from barrie this morning to get some dwarf puffers for our new dwarf puffer aquarium! Both guys we’re very friendly (one had even made sure that we knew where the parking meter was so we didn’t get a ticket) and very helpful! Very clean and well kept store. Definitely worth the drive down!

Staff is super friendly and knowledgeable on plants!They have a huge selection and alot of things I've never seen before in other fish stores and I've been to many across ontario. Highly recommend this local fish store for any of your planted needs.

I have two friends in the hobby and their aquariums sold me almost instantly on getting myself into the hobby ! They immediately recommended this shop and I must say I couldn’t be any more happy ! It’s a beautiful family environment lots of laughs and smiles all around the place ! extremely knowledgeable on what they sell and are willing to take the time so a beginner like myself understands some of the important steps that are often overlooked or shrugged off. Purchased all of my plants and fish from here and all of them are doing great ! Over joyed with the current status hopefully I can maintain and continue to see where my new aquarium goes :) - Alex K

This store is amazing. The staff are super knowledgeable and the owners are extremely friendly and helpful. I wanted a tank that they normally don't carry, but they ordered it in for me. All of the fish and plants are healthy and reasonably priced. Would definitely shop here again! Purchased the attach tank and hardscape through them. They helped educate me on the process of doing a dark start, so once it's ready, I will be going back to stock the tank with plants and fish through Planted Aquaria.

This is an amazing store with super healthy plants and fish and everything you would need for planted nano tanks I highly recommend you go here. They helped me get the right plants for my tank and helped me solve my algae problem, the owners are super nice and so is their store. Even though I moved I will still order online because of how healthy their plants are. Overall it’s an amazing mom and pop store, definitely one of the best in the area.

Very knowledgeable, bought chihiros WGRB2 Slim, Chihiros Doctor, and a bunch of plants. They have a ton of rare/hard to find plants as well.Great customer service, great tanks, great people!The store is interesting as well. Fish in the basement, plants up stairs.

Owners and staff are friendly and happy to help.I went to get eight tetras from the store, but realized there were only six when I opened the bag and started the drip acclimation process. Sent the store an email with photos and explanation, and Tom told me I could come get the missing two. Came back over a year later with the email he sent, and asked if I could get store credit instead and have it taken off today’s purchase. His wife (I forgot her name!) spent some time trying to figure out what the price of the tetras were last year in case there was a change. I appreciate the effort, and I always leave the store in a better mood.The people are friendly and knowledgeable, displays are gorgeous and clean. I’ve ditched big box pet stores and only go here. Very grateful I have a friend who loves coming to this store as much as I do. She also happens to have a car. Much faster than taking the bus to Oakville from Hamilton!

Purchased Hygrophila Compact from the Planted Aquaria website as I could not find any locally. The first shipment arrived in poor condition but only due to shipping carrier incompetence (the ICS Courier, Dorval branch is beyond terrible - the original plants were very badly beaten up after multiple delays for what should have been an easy next-day delivery). Tom from Planted Aquaria was very understanding, apologetic and went above & beyond to make sure I got a decent replacement plant which was shipped by Canada Post (thankfully not ICS). I did get one bigger plant instead of the smaller plantlets I was hoping for as with the initial purchase, but I was able to split the 1 plant into 2 parts so each of my 2 betta tanks could have a portion. Fast forward to a few weeks later and both parts of the plants have settled nicely in my betta tanks and I am seeing some nice new growth on them.
