Méchant Boeuf Bar-Brasserie
We went off Happening Gourmans and it was fairly good. Started with the oysters that were fresh and delicious and the red beer onion soup good portion and flavourful. Main was the steak and fries: was a really good portion the steak itself wasn’t super flavourful but did taste better with the gravy that they gave with and you can’t go wrong with fries. Also has the burger, same as the steak the patty was lacking in flavour but the portion was a good size. Finished off with mochaccino and carrot cake. Those portions were smaller but they were good. We also got the jiggle of La Pège red and it was such a good wine would totally recommend. The service was fast and nice despite them being busy. A really cute date spot all around.

We went during the yearly happening Gourmand where we pay a fixed price for a table d'hôte. Price was good (42$) for 6 fresh oysters appetizer, 7-oz steak and a chocolate/hazelnut cake. The service was longer than usual though. There was also a kid's menu which is pricier.

The beef tartar was amazing. Every dish we had was amazing. Genevieve was the best! It was loud, but we did not mind at all. Food was served quickly. I found at least 4 dishes that I wanted (so I have to come back). All the staff was nice. Suggest reservation; however, they sat us immediately. This is the kind of place where each one of you will enjoy their meal and want to come back.

Food was very meh, not bad but not good. The steak was a bit hard to chew even tho I took medium rare. The popcorn shrimps were not very good, the salmon tartar was simple but good.

Ugh where do I start? We had a reservation for 8h30. We were seated a little bit later and started off with drinks and salads. The waiter comes back 45 minutes later to tell us that they ran out of the salads we had ordered. 45 minutes!!!! The music was super loud - I could barely hear my friend sitting next to me and the food was okay. We (of course) waited a looong time for the desert menu and then for the actual desert. The desert was frozen too. And on top of that, the server got all out bills wrong… Like come one - we ended up leaving at 11h30!! Honestly, I’m not coming back here!

Fantastic seafood plate, generous portions and selection. I was deceived here as they added more plates than I ordered and charged us a full bottle of wine when all we ordered was 2 glasses. They left the bottle on the table assuming we ordered it. I caught this on the bill and they redid it charging half a bottle. I didn't say anything about the extra dishes as we ate them but did not order them. This place is worth the seafood plate but be mindful of what gets placed on the bill.

Wow! I’ve heard so much about that restaurant and I finally got to try it on a Saturday for dinner. It was fantastic. The service was impeccable. We were greeted by one of the managers Nicolas and he gave my boyfriend and I a great table by the window. The waiter Mathieu was absolutely amazing explaining us in details the menu and being so polite and courteous. The margaritas were top notch and we had a rack of ribs between us. The ribs were so tender and the homemade French fries was just OMG. Nice selection of wine by the glass. The ambiance was awesome and there was even a DJ who arrived at 6pm to put some kind of lounge music type thing. It was perfect. In all, I would give more than a 5-star review. A MUST in the Old Montréal.A+++

Where do I start?! From the second we walked in to the second we got back home we were smiling ear to ear. The food was not only to die for but the service was absolutely impeccable. Our waiter Jerome was attentive professional friendly and classy. On top of that the chef came out and we were able to thank him in person and he was incredible! This is one of the best restaurants I've been in Montreal to date. These guys made my daughter-in-law's birthday spectacular and my son's graduation dinner amazing. The atmosphere was beautiful but I still can't get over the taste of the food ...highly recommend!!!! Oh and the cocktails....just spectacular!

My husband and I dined here this evening, and it was an absolutely wonderful night. The food was delicious! The service was outstanding. Emma was our server, and she was absolutely lovely. She was terrific in her meal and drink recommendations and even gave us sight seeing tips. She is just so delightful, and we cannot wait to take advantage of her recommendations. I highly recommend this little treasure in Montreal, and I hope you have the pleasure or meeting Emma.

Honestly we wanted to like it more. We do have some food allergies we were told the steak spice contained gluten however e since that was removed they didn’t salt or pepper the steak. Service was alright was a fairly busy night but overall slowSteak was decent for dry aged not overly flavourful and nutty like we have experienced with other dry aged beefOysters were good tho
