Tried a few dishes but these were the only ones that my table gave me time to take pictures of. Tasty and unique flavors, yes similar to other Indian restaurants, yet different in a way. One can tell that the chef puts his/her heart to every dish. The waitress, Maritza, took her time to explain every question we had, told us about popular dishes too. So glad we stopped by, the food and service was phenomenal! Thanks Maritza for the incredible experience, it would not have been the same without your help. We will come back with friends!

Awesome food, service, comfort, atmosphere and decor.I was totally impressed with this restaurant. Entering it, I felt in a state of awe. There are few places around that make you feel so welcome and keep your mind entertained, while you admire the work that went into establishing this gem. The food was impeccable in taste and greatness.You will only see a few pictures, that will not give it any sort of justice. Please do go to Aafrien and pamper yourself, I recommend it. The staff is great and what appeared to be the owner/manager came to welcome us and offer to assist us above and beyond.It is located in the Yonge and Eglinton area on the South side of the street. Bike racks in the immediate area and a beautiful washroom - the picture is the women's - I went to it by mistake ;)Thank you Aafrien for an incredible experience. Keep up the great work.

Incredible food and service when dining in. Servers took the time to describe the dishes and make recommendations. When the food arrived, it was beautifully plated and delicious. We’ve ordered the dinner for 4 and portions were so big that we all had leftover to bring home! Have gotten take out as well and the food is just as enjoyable!

I have ordered and been to the restaurant many times, they never disappoint. Owners and management are really passionate and it shows, they care about the food. Customer service is top notch. Loved the extra touch of the note they added on the takeout boxes.I do really miss the lamb dhansak, it was excellent, hope to see that back on the menu

I was introduced by a friend and had such amazing experience at Aafrien recently! Located 3 mins walk from Eglington station, the restaurant has such warm-family vibe. The foods were on point (highly recommend their butter chicken pair with Garlic Naan), seasoning was just right and not too over spiced. All the servers were super friendly and helpful. Also, you need to try their Mango Lassi and Watermelon mojiho if you're there.If you indifferent about Indian cuisine, do yourself a favour and go to Aafrien, it will change your mind!

This was my first time in an authentic Indian restaurant. The food was fantastic, and my husband and I had excellent service. The waiter was very kind and helped us with the menu. I received a specific drink courtesy because I do not usually eat spicy food it helps to soothe the pepper. I really loved the experience.

Got the non-veg thali for lunch with upgrade to garlic naan. Was disappointed that only 1 out of the 3 curries actually had meat, and it was literally 3 small pieces of chicken as seen in my photo. I did not feel it was worth the money unfortunately. The only parts of the meal that I enjoyed were the chickpeas - flavourful and complex, with a small spicy kick; and the garlic naan - hot and fresh with real garlic and butter. I found the potatoes bland and the salad was nothing special.The waiter was kind and efficient though the place was short-staffed. He was the only employee taking care of the dine-in patrons and all of the take out/delivery orders. He was obviously working hard to keep everyone happy.

Ordered a combo with butter chicken, lamb korma and palak paneer and a lamb biryani. The portion is very filled for a combo for 2.The spice is very balanced in all the dishes. For the butter chicken, it is immediately obvious that quality ingredients are used (i.e. not ketchup and milk). The meat are cooked until tender. The palak paneer is very flavorful. It stood out from other curry with it's strong wild greens flavor.Biryani is not a personal favorite, but I was recommended by a friend to give it a try. I love the dish, especially when the rice absorbed all the lamb flavor, all while the lamb maintains its juiciness.I can't wait to being a few friend here to dine in next time.

Warm and inviting dinner. The dinner for two is excellent value for what you get - basically a three course meal plus dessert (not pictured because we ate it instantly), with lots of options for those with dietary restrictions. And you will have plenty of leftovers! A perfect place for special occasions.

Great food, but the service needs improvement.I ordered the coconut fish curry and it not only tasted delicious, but also looked beautiful and was served in a tasteful ceramics bowl. I was also very happy with the portion size. The mango lassi was a perfect complement to the curry.The restaurant's interior has a modern vibe, fitting with the tableware, and although it might not be as characteristic as some other Indian restaurants, I appreciated the roominess and the brightness inside. It made for a comfortable dining experience.However, the service was a miss. While the servers we had were polite, they forgot to bring me my order of rice, and I had to flag them down to remind them. Additionally, when we received the bill, we found out that there was a mistake. It was promptly solved and was not a big issue. However, given that the restaurant's machine set the default lower end of the tipping at 20% (and the highest option was 30% or 35%, talk about tip-flation...but of course you could also set your own percentage or amount), I expected more attentive service. I would suggest more training for the servers.
