We went to La Patrona after a recommendation from a coworker and it did not disappoint. The food was great, the decor attractive and intriguing, and the service prompt. Even the prices were pretty good, and comparable to similar Mexican restaurants in Edmonton. My only complaint was that the menu was a bit limited, but that's a pretty minor complaint.

Nice place with great feel. We came in on Canada Day late afternoon so it was starting to get busy but not quite yet. They gave us a lot of time before starting to serve the appetizer. The nachos was so delicious though. It did not have any cheese on top, but was super flavourful. I do prefer it without cheese despite being a cheese lover because sometimes restaurants put too much cheese on top and ignoring other ingredients also bring flavours to this dish. We also had the Suadero (brisket) and Al Pastor (pork) taco. The brisket was a bit dry to my taste but the Al Pastor was both flavourful and refreshing because of the pineapple bits on top. I also personally liked the rice better than the bean paste as it again can be a bit dry on its own. Maybe I don’t know the proper way to eat it. Churros with whipped cream was also good. Overall a good experience and great food.

Have never eaten real Mexican cuisine before until now. It was awesome. I usually dislike diced tomato and onions but I ate everything. The churros are nice as well, the presentation is very beautiful even for takeout. The portion size is very nice, not too big or small like other places.I wanted to also mention the restaurant itself is beautiful, it was very relaxing and welcoming when stepping in.

Really good experience! First-timer in this restaurant and absolutely thrilled to see tostadas on the menu. Full House that must mean the food's really good and people always come back. I arrived on Wednesday about 1230, it was only open for an hour and a half into place was packed. Recommended make reservations for dinner. The Horchata is delicious too!

I've been to Cancun, Mayan Riviera, Orlando, LA and New Orleans and always end up finding a Cubano. Little did I know I lived very close to a gold mine of a mexican restaurant. Honestly best food I've had in a while and just good on you guys for how well everything is. Only downside is you guys need a bigger restaurant! It's like my little escape to Mexico but close to home. I'm still shocked how good those churros were.

Oh wow! What an experience! Authentic Mexican cuisine... the food was awesome! The service was fabulous and the waitress was very hospitable. Atmosphere was very unique and welcoming. So surprised to see such a restaurant in Sherwood Park. Will definitely come back to the city.

Great and delicious Mexican food. Great and friendly staff and atmosphere. Food was a little bit salty. Moderately priced and fairly busy. Food was very filling. The kitchen has a window to allow customers to watch the cooks and chefs work. Had a great time here.

Service was excellent. Food was just ok. Based on other reviews, I expected more I guess. Tortilla soup was lukewarm at best. I’m not going to rush back anytime soon.

La Patrona is an excellent Mexican dining experience for any occasion - on the patio in the summer or inside when it’s a bit chilly. The food is delicious and authentic. The staff are kind and always try and accommodate you, even when you forget to make a reservation like I did. Also definitely make a reservation because they are popular! We’ve ate here a handful of times, now can’t pick between the tacos because they’re all so good and the cocktails are yummy - my mom still raves about their pina colada. For a couple of staff, English seemed to be their second language but they were so patient with me, even going as far as to bring over another staff to ensure they understood when I explained my food allergy. It’s apparent they really care about their customers. Will totally be back again, and probably again!

Best tacos I've had in the Edmonton area. Especially the Barbacoa with cheese. Cocktails were also very good. Definitely recommend getting the churros for dessert
