Mike Sangster and the First General Dartmouth team were unbelievable to our family and to a crisis we found ourselves in. When crisis hit, Mike came to our rescue, put our minds at ease, and put his team to work on the restoration. Despite the inconvenience of moving out, it gave us peace of mind getting our weekly updates from Mike and having the ability to provide feedback into the outcomes we wanted. It truly felt like every member of the team had a genuine concern for us and our challenge and wanted the best possible results for us. I can’t speak for other restorations companies, but the First General provided a level of professionalism and care that I never thought would be possible. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all you’ve done and for getting us back in our home- we are forever grateful.

Very poor service, I would give 0 stars

I just wanted to say a few words about the amazing ladies who have been helping me out for the last six months. Sarah and Kendall are very energetic and really strive to do their very best. I look forward to the days they come. Thank you ladies! LOL

Over a month ago, First General did some work on our home and had severely damaged our brand new sectional couch that is less then 6 months old. I have reached out to several members of the company including management and the owner and have been completely ignored on this manner. They did send someone to come see if he could repair it (which we are not okay with a brand new couch being repaired) but the repairman said he is not comfortable with taking on the job. Tim, the owner refuses to answer any of my voicemails, emails or messages I leave with his team. At this point, we are stuck with a severely damaged couch in our main room and are going to proceed with legal actions as they do not want to do anything to help. The work they did on the house is nice but are still waiting for them to come back to fix damages to the walls, stairs on deck, etc. A sub contractor they brought in, damaged a tile in downstairs bathroom and made a big mess in our front yard.

Same as the experience below had them do a roof repair that was faulty and caused water damage. The matter dragged on for 7 months with them refusing to accept responsibility. In the process of suing them.

Had this company come out to give us a quote for a repair job.While I would love to give a review of the work I cant.They came out, looked at the work that needed to be done and said they would be in touch.That was the last we heard from them.. they didn't get back to us with a price.We called multiple times to see if they were going to do the job but they wouldn't answer the phone. Left messages, nothing... even sent emails but nothing!Very unprofessional & would never refer them to anyone!

We had our roof done by this company 6 years ago via an insurance claim we made after wind damage. We noticed just over a month ago that our roof was missing shingles and more were lifting. We contacted First General to find out what their warranty was on their work and wanted them to come by to check out the roof. We felt that they should be repairing it, as 6 years is not long for a roof and we should not be having issues with it. My husband contacted the office numerous times and has gotten no answers, just that they are looking into it and couldn't tell us if warranty was in place still or if they could come to look at the roof. There has been no response from the owner via phone or email. We ended up contacting and having to pay a roofer that a neighbor used. He was there the next day to do the repairs that First General should have done. He also told us that the materials used on the job were poor quality and should not have been used in first place. I would highly recommend using another roofing company if your insurance company recommends this one. We are upset and disappointed in the work and after service care this company provides.

Dominic and Fitz were hands down the most hardworking team I’ve ever had work in my home. They were professional, courteous and went above and beyond.They were fantastic in every regard. Would highly recommend for a tear out. My basement was immaculate when they left.

First General is a great restoration company. Very easy to work with, kind, and seem to know how to take a stressful situation and turn it into a positive experience. Keep up the good work guys!
