Truly beautiful venue. Came here for TIFF to watch the world premiere of A Man of Reason. The movie sucked but the venue and the service was impeccable. Really beautiful venue.

From the plaque:A vital part of Toronto's cultural history, the Royal Alexandra is one of North America's oldest, continuously operating theatres. An early work of Toronto architect John M. Lyle, the theatre was financed by a consortium headed by Toronto's youngest millionaire"

This isna beautiful historical Theater. The design inside as if taking you back to the old glory days of plays. I can't imagine how many have been shown here. Location is very easy to find. It's across the David Pecaut Square. Right at the St. Andrew's subway station. There are lots of parking underground and around the area too.

Home to many of Mirvish's fine plays and rich with history, I loved visiting to see The Shark Is Broken and Pressure this season. If you like theatre, you'll love the Royal Alexandra!

Mirvish Theatres in general continue to be plagued by atrocious sound design wherever you sit. Balcony is steep but the full back chairs are comfortable, decent legroom.

Saw Pressure and really enjoyed it! The staff were all friendly and it's a lovely looking theatre.I sat in the dress circle and the seats were very cramped. I'm 6'1 and my knees were pressed against the seat in front of me. When I looked down over the balcony it looked like the seats in the orchestra had better legroom so if you're tall I'd suggest sitting down there.Either way, I really enjoyed the show, it was a great story and very well put together.

An absolute delight of a place. Having been there 3 times now, I am always in awe of the interiors. From lights hanging over your head to the carpet on the floor, everything has a very epic aura over it.I would recommend sitting away from the Orchestra seat since the speakers are too close to you and it can be upsetting to those with sensitive hearing, and depending right or left, the audio can feel off sync because of one base impacting you more. Speaking of seating, it would be great to have some sort of cup holders, but until then I recommend holding as few of things as you can.

A beautiful theatre with a small lobby, creating an intimate experience. The seats are wide and very comfortable; there is amble leg room. The seats are not overly slopped, so it can be challenging to see if there is a fall person in front.Exiting was slow as there are minimal exit points.
