Our experience was nothing short of perfect. Linnea designed our main floor, including our kitchen, and staircase leading up to the second floor. She produced the design for us, assisted in sourcing materials and coordinating with the contractors.Our kitchen is tiny - only approx. 11.5ft wide but I REALLY wanted an island. And more light. And storage. Not an easy task in our small 100+ year old home. Linnea presented us with 2 designs – both included the island that we desperately wanted, and both were beautiful. She was able to take into account our general style, along with the style of the rest of our home, and incorporate modern touches (e.g., amazing floor to ceiling sliding high gloss doors) that turned it into a kitchen out of a magazine. The option we chose gave us space to move around AND TONS of storage! To gain more light, we opened up our stairs with a glass railing and open staircase. We also included huge French doors in the kitchen, which made a drastic difference.Linnea is thoughtful, very organized, and pays close attention to detail at every step. Communication was always excellent throughout the project. She also only works with the best. All contractors recommended to us exceeded our expectations (the general contractor, the cabinetry maker, countertop/stair/etc. fabricators) – they were professional, and most important, if something wasn’t right, THEY weren’t happy until every last thing was perfect.All in all, we could not have been happier with the entire process, and of course, the final results. Designstrom is a wonderful bespoke firm in the east end. We used them for a major reno in 2022 and they worked with our Project Manager and construct team seamlessly. This included all design and space planning ( interior design, millwork design, space planning, sourcing materials, lighting design etc...)The owners Linnea and Martin are kind, trustworthy and authentic.They know the industry very well and are detailed orientated. We are very happy with the finished product and can't wait to work with them again for our basement renovation in the future!

Working with Linnea and Martin at Designstrom was an absolute dream. When we first contemplated renovating our kitchen, the entire process seemed extremely overwhelming. After our initial discussion with Martin, we knew that we would be in good hands. Linnea and Martin took the time to ask detailed questions about how we use our space, our tastes, our must-haves, and our don’t-wants. We are absolutely thrilled with how our kitchen, adjoining pantry, and laundry room turned out. The beautiful design included details that we never would have thought of. We are nine months into using our new space and we wouldn’t change a thing. We also used trades recommended by Designstrom, as well as their recommended contractor Craftsman Renovations, who are top-notch. We cannot say enough great things about Linnea and Martin and we will definitely be using them for our next reno.

Linnea and Martin transformed our condo's tiny galley kitchen to something sleek, spacious-feeling, and easy to cook, relax, and even entertain in. It is a thing of great beauty and very user-friendly. In the course of doing so they also enlarged the entryway as well as an adjoining room. Not sure how, but they made all three spaces seem larger — magic!We cannot say enough about how much value they brought to the renovation, from the brilliant design to introducing us to contractors and suppliers who could do it justice. We are very pleased with the result.

I worked with Design Storm for design work on my kitchen, bathrooms, basement and family room and I have to say I was blown away. They are prompt and professional in every way. They are so responsive which isn't something that is typical in this industry. Linnea and Martin have an amazing design sense and seem to be ahead of the trends vs following them. Most importantly for me though, is that they understood my style and delivered a solid design that exceeded my expectations. They ask good questions and are thoughtful to my needs and they are open to feedback and will turn around any changes quickly. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again or recommend them. They are amazing and I'm so glad I found them.

Linnea and Martin designed a dream kitchen for us. We've been using it for over two months now and we still can't believe all the thoughtful touches that they conjured in their design. We felt very well taken care of - from our first consultation all the way to the end of construction.One piece of advice to people about to undergo a reno with Designström: I strongly recommend that you work with the contractors and fabricators that Linnea and Martin recommend. There's a communication shorthand between these teams that really made things move smoothly. I'm convinced that the main reason we met our delivery deadline on time and on budget was due to the strength of those relationships.It goes without saying that I'd love to work with Linnea and Martin again!

We had the pleasure of working with Martin from Designstrom this past spring/summer. We had Martin design our 3rd floor master suite, bathrooms, kitchen and the rest of our main floor living space and are blown away by this talent!Martin was pulled into our project quite late and worked under tight timelines and did so graciously. He asked all the right questions and understood our vision. Martin came up with some creative ideas that we had not contemplated at all, but were absolutely the right choice for us. We are so happy with the modern, minimalist design he created and would not hesitate to work with Martin (and Designstrom) again.

We hired Linnea to guide our full home renovation, and from the first meeting we found her to be detail oriented and creative while catering to our conceptual style. Linnea and team were efficient, on time and resourceful; we could not be happier with the level of service and attention we received. And most important, the design is exactly what we wanted for our home. Functional style, with a timeless feel giving us a sense of pride every time we enter a room. An amazing experience start to finish, we would recommend her to anyone!

Working with Linnea and Martin was great. Not only does our place look fantastic, but the process was made so easy for us. They promptly produced great designs that we barely tweaked, and were most helpful with selecting styles, materials, etc. Given our limited attention span and time to assist with this, it was great to know we could completely rely on them to make excellent decisions for us. They are flexible and will assist as much or as little as you need/want. They oversaw the contractor (which they also recommended for us and who was great) and made a large reno as seamless as one such reno can be. We renovated our entire ground floor including kitchen and powder room. Very happy with it all! We have already recommended Designstrom to friends.

I own a custom millwork fabrication business. I've worked with DS for years and built dozens of projects of their designs.Honestly, I've not worked with a more thoughtful and knowledgeable team (when it comes to millwork at least). No surprise for the daughter of a Swedish cabinet maker...I enthusiastically recommend Martin & Linnea's team as amazing interior designers, and in particular their millwork designs for anyone that is looking for ultra functional design with taste and a little sauce...5 stars all the way!!
