I thought I'd been to the best Chinese bakery in Greater Vancouver, but I was incredibly wrong before making the BEST decision to visit here.I have never seen Whole Brown Wheat Veggie Steamed Buns (which were huge, bursting with fantastic flavorful ingredients plus tofu!), so I made the effort and plan to head here for breakfast. Oh my word, they are super yummy and I can't explain how good they actually are. They even have the most incredible Red Bean Green Tea Sticky Rice balls and Peanut Sesame Sticky Rice balls which I also haven't seen anywhere else. The bakery has a huge range of savory and sweet options to cater for everyone including a lot of fantastic veggie-friendly treats!!Cash only unfortunately, but very good value for money and nestled in the heart of beautiful Vancouver chinatown. My new local go-to, this place is a must as it offers incredible actual traditional Chinese treats at a great price.Support local businesses!

I ordered from Sun Fresh Bakery for the first time and I'm really impressed by the portion sizes and how good everything tasted. I was really surprised by how much filling/meat there is inside the streamed sticky rice in bamboo leaves. Most places give you more rice and barely any filling. Same with the steamed bun. Just look at the bread and filling ratio. It is a decent size too.I'll definitely be ordering from them again.

Best big meat buns in lower mainland, by far. This shop has been around for decades and quality has always been excellent. Cheap and generous portions, it can't get any better!Must try is #6 bun -- it's got a LOT of pork, super juicy, with a chunk of Chinese sausage, half an salted egg yolk, and super soft bread on the outside.Their big buns are usually piping hot from the steamer and ready to go. If you order rice rolls it will take 5 minutes or so.Items include lots of individually packed buns like pineapple bun or BBQ bun for around $2, much larger than the retail bakery shops like maxims or St Germain. Also has dim sum, congee, traditional Cantonese deep fried goods (Chinese donut, Chinese sweet donut, sesame puffs, etc). All for really cheap and delicious.

good bang for your buck. Cash only which was a drawback but they accepted U.S dollars. I liked the egg tarts and the chinese donuts were pretty good (tasted like deep fried dough, not sweet). Wish they had non-packaged red bean buns. I would want to come back to try more things

This place is a gem for fresh rice rolls. Under $5 for hot, fresh, steamy rice rolls with lots of meat. You need that yummy soy sauce that goes with the rice rolls. I asked for 2 this time and they happily provided me, free of charge. The 5 star review comes down to value, portion size, hot and fresh, and always yummy. It’s not the best rice roll in the world but for under $5, it gives me my fix. My stomach is happy, and so is my wallet.

Fast and courteous service. Line ups may be long based on the wamts of the customers ahead of you. All food is authentic, fresh and great prices. One of our favs are the pan fried pork buns that are in limited quantities and made only once a day mid morning so the sell out fast. The beef rice roll is yummy and made to order. So many choices!

Good food for a great price. The congee was really good, stir fried noodles tasted great but were a little dried out (I did get them later in the day so I'm sure if I got them earlier they'd be fine - I'll still order it again), and the BBQ pork steam bun was good. The best thing is the portion you get for the price. For $5 you'll get more food than you'll know what to do with. This is instantly a go-to spot for me. Quick, friendly service too.

Read good reviews on this bakery and our first experience didn't disappoint. Purchased 7 items - pork rice noodle, almond cookies (each cookie was sizable), pork and salted yolk buns (generous portion of meat and egg), deep fried taro (nice, crispy exterior), steamed prawn dumplings, and pork dumplings. The dumplings were quite large, with good flavour and tasted fresh. The sticky rice in bamboo wrap was done well and reminded us of our childhood! Would return again when in the Chinatown area, or make a special trip to sample their large selection!

I heard lots of good thing about this place and decided to go there during my day off.I went there on Thursday around 11am and it had quite long line up.I ordered the rice rolls (pork), porridge (beef), siumay, fried sticky rice, buns (#11 and #16).First thing came to mind when I entered the store, how come all the bread are sooo cheap! they are so big lol.Anyway I need to wait for 5-10min for my beef porridge but other than that everything is ready on their big steamer. This review is based on my personal opinion.1. Pork rice rollsGenerous portion with cheap price. Eventho the rice cake is little bit thick, but it's okay, tastewise is still good! They also super generous with the pork inside. One thing tho, I think I need to ask for extra sauce in the future.2. Beef PorridgeHonestly I ordered the beef porridge because I don't like the century egg :p. They will offered you if you want to add green onion and pepper (and please say yes!). There's no seasoning at all on the beef (I couldn't taste anything). if only they put little bit salt pepper on the beef, this porridge will be perfect! I love the porridge itself.3. SiumayVery thick and generous in meat. and sooo cheap!!! Little bit dry since I didn't eat them right after I bought it. Taste-wise is good, but it will be better if it has a sauce to dip-in. -- it just me who love to dip siumay in chili oil/siracha/even just ketchup4. Fried sticky riceMy least favourite from what I had. The pork smell is sooo strong and it is so heavy! It ends-up I re-cook this sticky rice at home and it become fried rice (hahahaha! I added some cilantro, prawn, egg, soy sauce and just 1/4cup of cooked white rice). it becomes really good!5. BunsThe buns is sooo huge! So many meat inside and taste are really good.I will recommen you order #11.Overall I spent ~$20 and it can feed 3ppl (me and my parents).Service is pretty quick eventho they are so busy.Cash only!
