Coquitlam Children's Dentistry (Dr. Christine N. Kim Inc.)

I was absolutely blown away by Dr Kim and her assistants perfectly, efficient speed yet total caution and care for my child. I have never been so impressed!!!! She is by far my number 1 recommendation for the tricities. Calling her just a Specialist should be considered an insult. SHE BLEW ME AWAY W HER EXPERTISE ,CONCERN FOR MY CHILDS HEALTH CONDITION AND MORE. She won me for life and is worth every cent.

We asked the receptionist several times to email us the X-ray. Each time, she said she would send it right away, but after four months, we still haven't received an email.The dentistry uses film X-rays, not digital X-rays.(I edited this part of my review about advantages of digital X-rays after the response from the dentistry.)However, personally I prefer digital X-rays.

Dr Kim and all the staff at the dentist is excellent!They truly care about kids and take time to go through every step!Professional care for your children at reasonable price(we get treatments for free, covered by MSP).Gifts and toys at the end is a treat for our kids!Thank you all.

No complaints, as we have nothing to compare it to (we have only been to Dr.Kim). When our child needed to start seeing a dentist we narrowed it down to PDG and Coquitlam Children's Dentistry.We couldn't decide so we went with whoever could give us the appointment first... and Dr.Kim has been our child's dentist ever since.+ the dental hygienist is fantastic! patient with our child, wears scrubs with superhero logos on it. She was never in a rush, and showed my son how everything works, so there is nothing unexpected.+ Tvs in front of each chair so kids can watch netflix while they do their work+ Dr.Kim doesn't push for general anesthesia, even though it would make her job easier. My son got local anesthesia and nitrous oxide gas instead. He was awake the whole time, but calm.+ In terms of appointment wait, the most we ever waited in the waiting room was 20min. I can understand having to wait, especially for paediatric dental offices... things happen all the time vs the regular dentist - the kid before you might be crying, nervous or need extra attention. would you want them to rush through them like an assembly line so your appointment would be on time? My son threw up during the x-rays, and they gave him all the time he needed to calm down and coax him to do the x-rays again. I would never want them to abruptly rush him so the next kid could be on time.+ The front desk sends an email + text reminder for appointments+ Direct billing for dental insurance+ As for price, Dr Kim has been known for fair pricing, I have talked to and compared our price with other parents, and so far we have always got the most reasonable price (she follows the BC Dental Association dentist fee schedule). I think she's able to keep her prices competitive because she's the only dentist there vs PDG has several. But she does have 3 dental hygienists.+ parking is great, inside a plaza - lots of parking.Overall, she hasn't given me a reason to change paediatric dentists.

The experience with my son’s initial visit was actually pretty good. However, the dentist didn’t ask me permission for the x-ray. I specifically emailed them no x-ray checkup two days before the appointment. They said will ask my permission first and then the dentist was gonna do it without notifying me by telling my son “the staff is gonna take some pictures of your teeth now”. I asked her why didn’t ask me first then she was like” ok this is the part I’m asking you”. Unprofessional right there. Also they charge crazy amount for everything including teeth fillings. I really liked one staff there because she gave me tips on how to avoid cavities in the future (no drinkable yogurt something like that). She took her time with us and really be there with my son the whole time. I wouldn’t go back to this dental office.

My family has been going here for years. Dr. Kim and the entire team is AMAZING!! Brought my 3 kids in recently and we were very impressed with all the new COVID-19 safety procedures. My kids always leave happy and smiling. I highly recommend bringing your kids to them!

Dr. Kim is amazing with children always treat our daughter with tender loving care. I want to express my sincere appreciation for the promptness and professional care given to my daughter. The receptionist is not very friendly at all. I call for an emergency appointment, and i understand that my kid have a fever (because his gum is swollen) and they cannot take him in due to covid risk. But she sounded like it was a joke. As a mother who already so concern about my kid, she was just laughing at me like there is something funny about that?? You can just kindly tell me that you cannot see my kid i will totally get it, not to laugh at me and tell me goodluck with that. SO RUDE!!!! And i guess reading other review, I'm not the only one who experience bad service from the receptionist.Edit: Dr. Kim called me later that day for a virtual checkup. My son's case got diagnosed which is what i need. So i have no problem with the dentist, just the receptionist. If only she gave me that option in the first place and didn't just turn me away in a not so appealing way i won't be upset.

Both of my kids have been coming to see Dr. Kim and her team their whole lives.They are kind, patient and won’t recommend services that you your child doesn’t need. The work they do is phenomenal and as such, my kids and I drive the distance even though we don’t live close by anymore.Love Dr. Kim and the team, I highly recommend!
