Wandering Mollusk Oyster Co

Wandering Mollusk did an oyster bar for our wedding - it was so great. Everyone loved it and the oysters were delicious. Jess was a great conversationalist and a huge hit with our guests.

Phenomenal! Ordered a crab bucket for four for Father's Day to share with our family, it was delicious! Jess was very helpful and took the time to offer some tips for cooking, which I appreciated. Very generous portions of fresh mussels, clams, spot prawns, crab, potatoes, corn on the cob, and sausage; along with a baguette, garlic butter and hot sauce. Steamed it with a couple of cups of wine, and it turned out great! A hint if you're using a propane BBQ with a heat distribution plate under the grilling grate: take the grilling grate off and place the bucket on the heat distribution plate to get the bucket closer to the flame and it will steam better. We'll definitely be doing this again, it was so enjoyable :-)

The seafood boil bucket is amazing! We made it with water but I will definitely try beer next time! A must try - they truly loaded it with the freshest seafood & added the yummiest sauces. Best oysters in the city. It’s true. Perfectly shucked right before your very eyes, locally sourced, delicious house made mignonettes.This guy is kicking goals all things seafood.Went to his pop up last week to find fresh spot prawns on the menu and a Seafood bucket on order! Took one of those things camping, what a great call that turned out to be. Throw a beer in there and in 20minutes we had a seaside, fire crackling feast.

My partner and ordered (and very much enjoyed) the new Seafood Boil Bucket. The instructions were perfect. We appreciated the advice about saving some of the pieces (corn, potatoes, sausage) for a hash the next day. We use a Whistle Buoy pale ale as a base and added 2 1/2 cups instead of the 2 cups on the instructions.It is such a cool idea and executed so well. Also, delicious. :)

We had the crab bucket a couple weekends ago. It was amazing. I absolutely love seafood and I knew I would love it. However my husband who likes seafood but is nowhere near my level, thought this was incredible. Thank you! Pre pandemic we would usually go out for a nice higher end dinner once every 2-3 months and we haven't done this since the pandemic. This bucket made us feel like we finally were able to enjoy an elevated dining experience without having to sit in a restaurant. So thank you again! We will definitely be back.

Best oysters you will EVER have. Jess shucks them right there while you enjoy a beer on the whistle buoy patio. And if you want something truly special check out the Dungeness crab boil bucket to take home with you(order ahead of time). We split this with 3 friend and it was phenomenal. I had no idea shellfish could be this good (or easy for that matter) at home....I suppose it makes sense though, nothing bad ever came from the directions - just add beer! Can’t say enough good things. Thanks Jess, you rock!

When I am anywhere downtown Victoria and looking for some quality food, I will go out of my way to make sure to find a Wandering Mollusk pop up. I have been blown away time and time again at the level of quality and freshness I receive every time I eat there. Jess, the owner of Wandering Mollusk, took the time to help educate me in the true way to eat fresh, locally picked oysters and how to properly pair them with homemade sauces and garnishes to fit my taste preference. I find this is a true staple of downtown Victoria's local food scene and encourage everyone to go experience it!

The bucket! 10/10. So delicious. Such an amazing price for what you get (with no prep!!!). Easy, user friendly, and have I said delicious!?! Just phenomenal all around. Absolutely the only way I’ll do a crab boil again. Also love the artistic label, looks local and so fitting. Perfection all around.

It is challenging to plan for birthdays during COVID lock down but I was pleasantly surprised when I stumbled upon the wandering mollusk. I ordered the dungeon was crab bucket and it was a big hit!Really elevated the experience of a birthday dinner during lockdown. I am a amateur around the kitchen but this is a no brainer! Pop it on the stove and 20mins later ... dinner is ready to serve.Everyone enjoyed the dinner and it truly is more than enough for 4people and some left overs.Happy happy customer ! customer service was great. They were very helpful and explained it in person when I picked up the bucket ( even though thorough instructions were included on the bucket )Thank you wandering mollusk!
