Borough Bar & Grill
The restaurant is beautifully decorated and our server was attentive and helpful. However, the food was lacklustre. I had a very basic chicken club sandwich, which cost $21. To add a side salad made entirely of greens and only 2 grape tomatoes added another $2. The food was fine, but nothing special, and at $23 for a basic sandwich and salad it should be extraordinary. My husband had a chicken sandwich, which he said was fine but very saucy. His Caesar salad was drenched in dressing to the point there was excess liquid in the bowl. His cost $21. We would try the restaurant again, but I’d avoid the over priced basic food options.

Without a reservation we had to eat at the bar but there was a small table that worked fine. A full house is a good sign. Certainly a little more pricey then I wanted but I am a little cheap. Got the special which was prime rib. It was very well priced and very very good. The extras were even more amazing. Spiced squash purée!!! Had a great evening out.

Ordered the Rigatoni pasta. Although it was very tasty, I think if it were at have had more sauce this would have made the dish better and more enjoyable. I also found that the pasta was not very filling. Service was a bit slow, considering there were only handful of customers dinning. Server was wonderful, answered questions, made conversation, and made recommendations.

Food and service - 10000000 stars; however, I don't recommend working in the kitchen. You'll either quit (if you don't like being yelled at for not cutting your masking tape date labels perfectly, for example) or be fired for no reason. Chef seems to fancy himself as something of a Ramsay, but only demonstrates all the belligerence and none of the guidance - I've spoken to a more than a few former coworkers who have said the same (only worse)... it's not much of a surprise that many of the best people who helped open the place have left, and that Borough is constantly looking to find new staff.Again, the food and service are

We experienced Borough for the first time over the weekend. We were there for a friends birthday. They have several areas for larger groups. It’s pretty cool. The servers, Candace & Isabel, were so helpful and on top of our group. With over 20 people, I’m sure it can get busy. We always had drinks in our hands and food in our belly. The drinks were awesome. Tasted amazing. We ordered pizza. BBQ chicken, and the mushroom. They were delicious. Overall, a great time with great friends at a new, great spot. Thanks so much.

An absolute neighbourhood gem! We went to Borough Bar & Grill today for lunch. A friend suggested it rather than the food court at Market Mall. What a great suggestion! Borough Bar & Grill is an absolute gem of a restaurant. A lovely, modern, impeccably clean, and well located place for food & drink. The restaurant overlooks the cutest public skating rink and has 3 hours of free underground parking included. What a fabulous place for dinner before seeing a move at the Cineplex in the same complex. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and escorted to our seat. Our waiter was friendly and very personable and provided helpful advice when we asked. Our dining companion had eaten here once before and highly suggested the Fried Artichokes. We actually had a hard time choosing an appetizer as they all sounded great! We were not steered wrong. The artichokes and dip were actually so delicious they were to die for. I could have eaten a whole plate of them. Nicely presently as well with parmesan cheese and arugula. We decided to share 2 dishes and ordered the Rigatoni and the Antipasto pizza. We had more than enough for the 2 of us and our waiter kindly gave us a box to take our extra pizza home. The rigatoni was perfectly prepared to al dente and came in a delicious creamy white sauce. The focaccia crouton on the top was a lovely crunchy addition to the dish which made it that more interesting. The Antipasto pizza was a nice mix of ingredients. It arrived piping hot and the crust was obviously freshly made and perfectly cooked. A perfect mix of soft chewy and crispy. Our other companion ordered the Egg Noodle stroganoff. Great mix of ingredients and delicious flavour. It arrived piping hot as well. We had to order a nice Guinness on tap to go with our meal. We would highly recommend all of our choices. There are so many other interesting and appealing choices on Borough's menu we plan to definitely go back. A lovely spot for lunch or dinner. Great for a date night or just a group of friends. The food is definitely worth it.

We celebrated our dating anniversary at the new Borough Bar & Grill in University District. The ambience of this place gives New York City vibes as it's name sake implies. A comfy, trendy modern aesthetic serving a menu with something for everyone. The menu isn't large but it's well sourced in terms of options. There are appys, salads, pastas and a selection of main courses from the grill but also some larger, family style dishes like whole chickens, fish or a 40 oz prime rib. We shared everything and had the roasted beets with a dill yogurt dressing which was amazing. The charred cauliflower was delicious and that sauce was something else ...taste bud explosion. The Halibut steak was cooked perfectly (albeit it was a small piece for the price of 43$). The pepperoni pizza with chili honey oil was such a good combo of flavors. The classic New York Sour cocktail was very enjoyable. We tried their cheese cake which was fluffy and tasty. They cover it in a salted caramel sauce which we weren't a fan of in the end but overall everything was delicious. We will definitely be back to try more dishes. A tip...the appy menu is small but you can also order veggie sides from elsewhere in the menu as a starter and it was perfect. Smaller portion sizes only impacted some of the dishes and is typical of a restaurant of this calibre. A nice, tasty new addition to the University District and we can't wait to go back with friends.

Other than it took then a minute to get our drinks and to bring our mains it was all amazing. I think it is honestly the best food I've had at a restaurant in a very long time. I had the pork belly and my friend had the steak; they were all delicious. The wine was chill and yummy too. We had the artichokes appies and it was so so good. Our server was so attentive and nice. Definitely going back.

We've previously had a great experience at Murrietta's which is owned by the same group as this new concept and wanted to try this out!We went for a nice Friday lunch where I had the Rotisserie Chicken Club and my wife had the Halloumi. The club was served on a really tasty sourdough and featured lots of bacon. The Halloumi came with grilled zucchini, roasted peppers, arugula on ciabatta which she really enjoyed and thought it offered a unique taste over most sandwiches. Both came with french fries which were nice and crispy and we both enjoyed. One complaint was the $4 diet Pepsi I ordered was waaay more watery than even the typical fountain drink. Very light coloured and tasteless. We love the heated underground parking that makes visiting super easy. The restaurant is a nice open space which I would love to see with the garage doors open in the summer overlooking the park.Service was good.

Had a lovely time at dinner with my family. Our waitress made amazing suggestions. The food was amazing, with a great variety of tastes. It is definitely worth trying out all the different foods. The price is on the higher side but in my opinion, the quality of the food was worth it. Highly recommend checking it out.
