Winterwood Child Care Centre - Global

Six years ago we did the daycare search in Ottawa for the right home for our child when not at home. We toured multiple facilities and met with many directors. In the end, the only place we felt comfortable leaving our child with special needs was Elizabeth Park which later became Winterwood. The staff are professional, courteous, and above all loving of the children in their care. They go above and beyond to make sure parents concerns are heard and addressed. We have now left two children in their care, both with special needs and I cannot speak highly enough about how this facility is operated. There are very few other places in the city I would be comfortable leaving my children. If there were an award for daycares in the city, Winterwood would win annually.

I have gone back to this centre for all of my children's childcare needs because I trust them wholeheartedly to ensure their safety, both physically and emotionally.As someone who has a really hard time leaving my children with anyone, I have never left them and worried if they were safe or loved. I always knew they were in good hands.I have 4 children who have attended Winterwood. My children are spaced out (6y, 6min, 6y), and whenever it is time for my children to go to daycare, I cross my fingers that they have a spot available because I couldn't imagine leaving my children with anyone else.I love that over the last 14 years of being part of the Winterwood family, that there are still a lot of very familiar faces. I love that someone who cared for my eldest child is now taking care of my youngest. The long-term employees show that it is not only a great place for your child, but that it is also a great place to be an employee as well.There is no other daycare centre that I would trust with my children with as much as I trusted the amazing people at Winterwood. When it was my last child's last day at the end of 2021 it was a very bittersweet moment saying bye for the last time. We will all hold very fond memories of Winterwood, which was a second home for my children.

Two of my children have attended Global child care, specifically the WinterWood location and have had excellent care. Program Director Cheryl and all the staff members go above and beyond to ensure a safe, caring and nurturing environment. We have never had to be concerned for the safety of our children and have been very happy with the program and it's impact on our children's development. To the staff, keep up all the great work, your having such a positive impact on so many families and their children!

Both my children attended this daycare and they have special needs. The staff at this daycare is lovely and professional and caring. You know it’s a good place when the staff that was there 6 years ago is still there today, which is the case for this daycare. They truly loved and took care of my kids and they are still taking care of our youngest at the moment. They are communicative and responsive and always willing to go that extra mile to make sure our children get the best care possible. I have never had to worry about my kids while attending this place and highly recommend it to anyone looking for care in this end of the city.

My grand daughter started to attend in January of 2019. I highly recommend this daycare. My grand daughter has been through trauma as a very young child. Therefore part of her healing process was to have her attend daycare. Winterwood Daycare was the best place for her. They have helped her so much. It’s incredible. As well as recognizing that she may have a hearing problem. They helped us with going in the right direction to get help at CHEO. They also taught us how to communicate with her etc. It’s been an amazing journey. Now today she is receiving the care from CHEO and also getting hearing aids. Without them this would of been a struggle. They have been a huge part of helping her behaviour problems, her shyness and having confidence in herself. They are a very caring and knowledgeable staff. Cheryl is the director and Alexandra is her assistant and anytime we had questions or needed help they were always there for us. The staff care very much about the children. Very patient and kind and they teach them so much. The whole staff always went above and beyond. I truly believe because of them our grand daughter has a great life ahead of her. I’m sorry my post is so long but I can’t say enough about them. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to the teachers, Cheryl and Alexandra for everything you’ve done. You have been angels for us. We’re going to miss you in September.

We have been with Winterwood since 2017. Between my three kids, we had the opportunity to work with all of the educators, at least twice, if not three times by now. While my kids have their favourites, there hasn’t been a single educator they didn’t like. All staff, whether it be the educators, the administration or support staff have been nothing but professional, caring and dedicated.Since 2017, there has been very little staff turnover, which I feel is reflective of the positive environment at Winterwood. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff at Winterwood, they have been nothing but caring, supportive and willing to go the extra mile to ensure our children could become the best version of themselves.

Winterwood has been a wonderful place for our children throughout the past year. The staff have provided a fun and safe space for them to grow despite having to navigate the complications of COVID. The program keeps them busy and learning all while having fun. I am thankful for the care and attention they have received as well as the comfort in knowing they are in good hands.

We have nothing but THE best things to say about Winterwood Childcare Centre and the entire staff! We have been with the centre for over 5 years and both of our children have thrived and have been treated with the utmost care and love. I have always recommended Winterwood to my friends and family because they create safe and inclusive spaces and ensure our children are always attended to from a place of empathy and kindness. We are so grateful for this centre and all that they do. All of the staff have gone above and beyond during this pandemic - this has not been an easy time but Winterwood has exceeded in so many ways. Our love and gratitude to the staff! We adore you all and appreciate everything you do! ♥️

Winterwood Childcare is a wonderful place. I only have great words about this child care center. Our family and my child have been blessed to be part of this family in the past 4 years. The staff are wonderful, professional and caring. They are always willing to go that extra mile to make sure my child, who has special needs, gets the best care possible. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for care in this neighborhood.

I can't say enough good things about Winterwood!! Cheryl and Alex in the office are fantastic. All of the educators are the most wonderful caring people! We've had 2 kids in care from the infant room right through to senior preschool. They have been like a second home and I can't imagine having them in care anywhere else. We're having another baby in the Winter and we put them on the waitlist as soon as we found out we were pregnant. If it were up to me they would stay in care until college!
