Dr Michael Butler and his team are the real deal! A coworker recommended Dr Butler after having not the best luck with past Dr's. Not only did him and his staff listen to my concerns, he was able to help me understand my situation in common language and give guidance to the best options long term. I have the most trust that Dr Butler will always take care of me in the future.

Insane wait time, more than 2 hours every visit. Doctors and Receptionists are helpful, however, waiting is nonsense. Not sure what is the point of appointment.

I had a retinal detachment back in 2018 and dr Michael Butller my saviour immediately referred me to a retinal specialist on the same day. I got my surgery done and dr Butler continues looking after till now for my cataracts and retina He saved my vision and I am close to 20/20 vision. I don’t like seeing doctors but every time I walk into this clinic I feel I am at home as I know I am in good hands. Recently I had an appointment again and I was advised not to do laser if I don’t need to whereas other doctors would want to earn more money. Trust me Dr Butler is the best eye specialist in the Lower Mainland. Do not go anywhere else

The receptionists were very helpful as were the technicians. About 90 seconds at most with Doc. Butler didn't give me any new information and my refills for Lumigan were not even part of his address for me. Now I have to obtain Lumigan from another professional source. I had to ask specific questions because I had been there several times over the years and knew what I needed to know. Dressed in street clothes and not even looking like a professional he sent me quickly to the receptionist to arrange a Field Vision Scan. That was March 26, 2022 and the scan was set for August 30, 2022. Not only that but I would have to make another appoint for after the Visual Scan to review the results because he is not in the office the day visual field scans are done! Sounds like a money grab. Well, I cancelled that August appointment and now I will visit Central Eye in Surrey, although a long way from Richmond, I know I will get better attention there since my wife is their patient.

The receptionist (elderly white lady) at the Richmond location came off as rude and raised her voice at me when I was checking in for an appointment. Despite providing my name and having spelled it out for her, she automatically assumed I wasn't the patient. Patients expect to be met with a welcoming and attentive person, especially when they're in a vulnerable state, not by someone who sounds like they've given up on life.In contrast to pre-Covid times, the Richmond office almost never picks up the phone. Don't bother leaving a message because they don't return your call. There's a better chance of reaching the Burnaby office.Appointment confirmations via voicemail are also unreliable. I was instructed to come to the Richmond office when my appointment was actually supposed to be in Burnaby.

For 5 years, my eyes felt 24/7 as if there were eyelashes under my lids. I lived with such terrible unending discomfort that I rarely went out at night. When I saw Dr. Michael Butler in late 2021, he diagnosed me with Meibomian Gland Dysfunction. I had the Lipiflow treatment at Oculus Eye Clinic in Richmond and now I feel as if my life has been restored to me. My eyes are 95% better. The terrible prickling and burning has gone. My gratitude to Dr. Butler will never end - my eyes feel normal again. Thank you so much Dr. Butler! Joy T.

The technician and doctors were very helpful and nice. But the front desk administrator was very rude and bad attitude.

Dr. Andrea Butler treated me for a potentially serious corneal ulcer --- during the period in which our second child was born. I was well taken care of, despite her extremely busy schedule as a specialist.Several check up appointments were with her colleagues at other clinics. It seemed like she was well liked by them -- otherwise I may not have been able to be squeezed in.The clinic itself: clean, newly built, quick pre-screening with modern equipment and helpful staff.
