Was looking into places to camp later this summer, don't bother as they discriminate against certain dog breeds.

I camp here seasonally... love it and the little community. They are all very welcoming. The pictures are of the river running through the campground.

I wish I could give a 0 star review because I would. People have a fear of big dogs, and I get that. But to discriminate against specific breed(s) of dog is just foolish. I have two Pitbulls" that are two of the sweetest dogs you could ever meet & wouldn't hurt a fly. It's unfortunate people are still this uneducated about breeds of dogs."

I'm always on the lookout for great places to go camping, this place had promise until these words right here from their website... NOTE: No Pitbulls

I was looking at different campgrounds throughout NS for a family trip and upon reading info about this one in-particular, they don’t allow all breeds of dogs. If certain breeds make someone “nervous”, rules could be put in place for ALL breeds so that way everyone could come enjoy this place. Unfortunately, in 2023, we’re still seeing breed discrimination. I’ll be making sure to let my friends and family aware of this policy.

I wish I could rate this campground at a 0. Thought of camping here however since looking further into this campground I will NEVER bring my business here. It’s pretty sad that in 2023 we still have so many closed minded, uneducated people. They are pet friendly however if you own a “Pitbull”, Rotweiller, Doberman, or German Shepard you are not aloud to bring them. I put quotations around “pitbull” as technically that’s not even a breed of dog. If they actually did their research and were doing this for the safety of their staff and customers then they would know that GOLDEN RETRIEVERS pose a greater risk of biting statistically then a lot of the other breeds listed. This is totally unfair and makes zero sense. You can not let some dogs in and not the others!! I would much rather be surrounded by the dogs you listed as banned than the small little yappy dogs that are aloud in!!!! I can’t wait to tell every body I know about your stupid rule and encourage people to camp elsewhere.

I am not a patron of this camp site so my rating is based on conversation with my host who absolutely loved spending the summer there. Riverland has a pool, playground and laundry facility for its patrons. There are varying activities and the patrons seemed to share fun and camaraderie. As a guest a small fee is to be paid and your car is parked by the main hall at the entrance

Can't give it any higher rating as I will never be allowed to take my dog there. He's a good boy who's never even hurt a fly. Yet they let small yappy little beasts there that are more likely to bite (statistically proven, Weiner dog, Chihuahuas and a few other small breeds are considered the most vicious). Also. They can't even seem to spell the breeds right of the ones they're banning. If you can't accept my large but super sweet pitty then I can't accept you.

Was looking to book a nice family camping trip this summer but after seeing the dog policy and that they only discriminate against certain breeds I will be staying elsewhere.
