0 STAR...I worked at Pioneer Youth for a very short time. When I accepted the job I was very excited as I thought this would be my career job. Staff was friendly towards other staff and proper training was given. However, my shift that I was called in for was terrible. It first started off with an email 5 days prior to the shift to see if I was available. With a quick email back I was clarifying if it was AM or PM and that I would love to work the shift. No response. After 4 days and about 5 emails and 2 phone calls I finally get a response. I show up for my shift and they ended up covering it already and I was no longer needed. However, they told me I could stay. Throughout the night the staff was friendly and helping me out when needed as this was my first shift. But I noticed the staff members were very rude to the children/teenagers with autism and other disabilities. The staff members were pushing the children and making fun of the children trying to get a negative behaviour out of them. I told staff that it was very wrong and unprofessional of them to do such thing to the children, especially when they were not having behaviours and were content. Staff told me if I didn't like it I was more then welcome to leave. I left immediately and resigned the following day.

I have a good time working here with Barb at pioneer who retires on the 13th of October. These are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. Update the food program I did with with barb has has ended taylor who took over for barb was surprised along with me. not surprising since we were down to five group home's when I started at pioneer their were eight then seven. Then six. Then only five were left since some group home were moving home's or didn't have enough people living there. Taylor still works for them but in one of the group home's. Just to clear i wasn't fired or let go the program ended so no more work. But I had a nice time working here with barb and Taylor.

honest here I live there living and working or two different experience especially when they do a lot of things than when they shouldn't.Some staff were there for the money and others are there that do care live at Wellington Albert and Northlake let's be honest was not the greatest experience but I had nowhere else to go some of the staff there are verbal abusive and they wonder why the kids are.Let's be honest the system is rigged I would not recommend this company ever to any kid or any person to actually experience living there at the end of the day you can't even go to head office and ask to speak to somebody who has more power than the staff there and they'll just take the staff side at the end of the day everybody gets to go home and we got to stay there and experience this horrible experience living they're treating us like animals I'm sorry but I'm not going to have a staff member almost the same age as me trying to tell me what to do, at the end of the day they don't really care for the kids or anything like that they only care about their money once again I lived there for over a decade almost no longer in the company thank God because these people are don't even care you go to head office and you try to speak to somebody there it's like a needle in a haystack so what's the point of having a main office if they came and actually help you solve your own problems when you're having problems with the staff there the director of the company is a lost cause let's be honest here and anybody else in there the only person that I ever liked was Barb from the groceries program downstairs and worked for her for many of years and that's only best and only good experience that I've ever had she was only one that treating me like a regular person not labelled me as something else like most of the people do because they read your history and they think because your history and they will hold that against you.The way they restrain kids I don't think it's acceptable because some staff members will take it to the next level and a wonder why the kids will assault them because half the time they're not even doing what they're actually taught in training, I'm just speaking from experience I personally don't agree with half the things that this company does but at the end of the day look at now it's on its last legs
