I had my 2014 US taxes done at Capital Tax last year. Everything seemed good and I was able to file quickly. A couple months later I had Deloitte review the tax return that Capital Tax did for me and found that I overpaid by $1,276 USD. But hey... everyone makes mistakes and at least it was caught. I had Capital Tax redo my return and I filed to amend the previous return. After a few months of not hearing back from the IRS I asked Hikaru from Capital Tax to check on the status of my return since Capital Tax filed on my behalf and I do not have all of the information necessary to do so on my own. She agreed to check and never got back to me with any information. I have since called and written numerous emails back to try to get the status of my return and have not heard anything back from Hikaru or anyone else at Capital Tax. It has been over 4 months now and 9 months since I originally filed.I do not recommend that anyone use Capital Tax. I understand that everyone makes mistakes but this particular mistake was quite expensive and one that I would not expect tax professionals" to make. It is also a shame that I cannot get a response from anyone especially when I've been extremely polite and understanding given the circumstances."

Unfortunately, after more than 10 years of being loyal to Capital Tax, I can not say I'll ever use them again or recommend them. After two months ofwaiting, they still have not filed my Tax Returns. I was given excuses of moving to another office, not having the right software, a glitch in the system and then told it was sent thru. When I checked with CRA, still Not Filed. I fail to understand why after so many years of using this company and promptly paying them for their services...I get this treatment. No service! I will not recommend them as I have done so in the past. Sad.I have been polite and patient throughout this ordeal.

There are several reasons I would not recommend this company. First, they did a business refile for me, but after getting my reassessment I owed double. Turns out the owner had never done this type of tax return and had several errors on filing. After saying he had fixed his errors and sent in the revision, I never heard from him again. It has been 5 months since my last correspondence and I cannot get a hold of him. The CRA says he has never sent them the final refile, so I had been waiting months for nothing. In the end, he caused me to owe more money, had egregious errors on my return, and then completely ghosted for me to clean up the mess. Do not use.

We passed along our tax information for John to complete, and have not been able to get ahold of him for two weeks. Capital tax has not returned several calls and multiple emails. Very concerning.

I was amazed at the proficiency and knowledge they displayed in taking care of four years of business taxes. It was a pleasure doing business with them and would recommend Capital Tax to anyone looking for an accounting firm.

I had a lot of questions about filing my taxes this year because I worked in Asia last year and wasn't sure how to report foreign income. Hikaru was really helpful and friendly, and everything only took a few days.

Eric and his team (John and Hikaru) at Capital Tax have been helping us to file our corporate tax returns since 2009, we are so pleased with their services that we started asking them to file our personal tax returns too for the last two years. They have a downtown office and it is very convenient for me to complete all my tax-related visits during my lunch hours or late afternoons. I really appreciated the accounting advises they shared with us during the early years of our business. Like all business relationships, it takes time to earn trust ... Capital Tax team has certainly earned our trust over the years with their reliable, timely and accurate services!

Hikaru has been amazing. She has helped me with my business taxes for 7-8 years, and she also helps my partner with his complicated tax situation as he is a dual citizen Canada and US. We highly recommend her.

I don't often take the time to write a review about a business, but I really wanted to talk about my experience with Capital Tax. The staff is not just accommodating, but the man I spoke to on the phone was quite helpful. In the end,, they did both my U.S. and Canadian tax returns. (I have an american passport and need to file U.S. taxes just because......). Many thanks for getting me back on track with the IRS.

Been coming here for 2 years now. Have had excellent results from my tax returns both years, with much better service than I received from H&R block in previous years. Dropped my paperwork off with a 5 minute explanation in the morning, got the phone call in the afternoon that the return was done. Walked in, signed the papers and got my return a week later. As fast and easy as one could ask for. Would highly recommend in the future, and have done so in the past
