After months of looking my husband and I fell in love with a property in Whitby, and decided to put an offer so we could get the place no matter what, reason for us being aggressive was simply because we had family living in the area. To our bad luck, Ornella Bacon was the listing agent at the property and when I say unprofessional, this woman is the textbook definition of it.We told Ornella and her colleague Stephanie that we were really interested in the property and our agent will be in contact soon. She took our agent’s information and made sure she knew who we were so she could look out for our offer which was supposed to be Monday (April 17) night. Our agent reached out to us and told us to do a second viewing to make sure if we were really interested in the property before we put the offer down.When we returned to the property we found out that the offer date was moved up to Sunday April 16th, this offer date changed within 35 minutes without Ornella considering the best interest of her clients. Our agent then called her and said that he is writing up and offer and will be sending it within 30 minutes. After sending the offer, our agent called and asked if we were close, she said no, we raised our offer again, she said we were still not close, we again raised our offer she said we were close but still not there. To which we increased the offer a fourth time and were on top of the list. In this time, our agent called Ornella and heard words like “I’m not sure, let me see, Uhs, Umms, I have to be some where before 6pm so I need to do close before 6pm” which seemed so unprofessional. She once again called and told us that she needs to give the other party to increase their offer, however if they increase their offer now, we will not be able to increase our offer, she also asked our agent if we were capable of coming up with enough funds to close, which I’m sorry to say is a slap on someone’s face and Ornella was very blunt in doing that. The house was listed for $799K. We offered $920K. Ornella called our agent and said sorry the other party had increased the offer (without giving us a chance to increase it on our end). “I’m really sorry but the other couple just got engaged yesterday and they are really sweet and wrote us a letter and it was really hard to say no, I mean your clients were a good couple but they were better”, I’m sorry but these words coming out of an agents mouth scream favouritism . This agent is a fraud and unethical, they sold 166 Bourbon Pl, for $921K, my husband and I were willing to go much higher for this house as we have family living close by. I feel sorry for the seller they lost out on the best offer for their property because their agent was incompetent.If you want the highest offer for your property please stay away from Ornella Bacon

Mary and her team are absolutely fantastic. They took the stress away from selling my mother in laws house. Charmaine was amazing at keeping us informed of all the required actions and Mary provided appropriate guidance on upgrades such as new carpet and recommendations for services such as junk removal, as well as taking care of the staging.
