Chubby's Jamaican Kitchen
This is a pretty restaurant with a tropical and lively vibe. Jerk chicken is juicy and tender even though both food and salad's taste can be improved. Rum cake is ok; the texture is a little bit heavy so it's difficult to finish. Staff are professional.

Really good food, service and ambiance. The jerk chicken was so tender and flavourful - it’s surely something I could eat everyday. The ackee & saltfish bites were just such a wonderful treat. The cocktails were so well made & I really enjoyed the little kick of spice in some of their drinks. Their veggie stew was also very tasty. While I’m a big fan of bread pudding, the texture wasn’t my favourite, but the flavour was on point. Overall, loved my experience at Chubby’s and would go back!

Get take out from here often and decided to come in for a sit down dinner, was well worth coming person! We sat on the patio and got to people watch on a busy Friday night on Portland! The servers were friendly and the atmosphere was great! The food was delicious! We had chips and plantain to start, then got medium jerk chicken and pan-seared snapper (per our server’s suggestions), which were filling and delicious! Paired them with red stripes beers and got rum raisin pudding to finish the meal! Definitely check Chubby’s out!

I really liked the vibe of this place and the service was excellent. The fine dining experience for Jamaican food is good but the price is steep compared to the proportions. Drinks don't need to cost that much and food could be well worth it with larger portions. Nonetheless this is a great spot for Jamaican style dining on date night.

Found a live worm in my salad when I was halfway through with it. Very disappointing. And honestly, even though the staff and server were nice, this was a grave mistake.All that was primarily said with the apology was that the produce was fresh (but clearly not washed properly). There is supposed to be a hygiene standard maintained.Other restaurants try to make up for any mistake, especially if it’s a fine dining experience or upper scale restaurant (even if it’s not this extreme as an insect in your food) and usually try to do something about it or don’t charge you for anything but I still had to pay for other food except the salad, even though I literally stopped eating since I lost my appetite and was nauseous because of that, which I feel like is wrong given that as a customer I saw a live insect in my food. Not enough action was taken regarding it in my opinion.Not going back for sure, but it’s a pity since the place was beautiful and had a good vibe going.Insects in your food feels illegal esp when you’re paying to have a good experience and good food.

Love the vibe and decor, for a while your transported out of Toronto for sure. It's a busy place so reservations are recommended. I tried the veggie curry it was well seasoned, the portion was a bit small, but my friend enjoyed her jerk chicken, we also had some non alcoholic beverages and they were refreshing, not too sweet. I wanted the the chickpea and plaintain hash, but they were sold out of it, which was disappointing as those were the only two veg options. We finished with the rum and bread pudding. Definitely nice to share not too sweet.

I absolutely love Chubby's. Excellent food. Great drinks. All reasonably priced. Staff are happy and welcoming. You have to try the salt fish fritters and snapper. It's spectacular. You have to eat here.

Fantastic. Believe the hype. If you want great Jamaican food, you can always go to Brampton or Mississauga, but it's great to see one in downtown Toronto.. The food was amazing. Jerk Pork, Snapper, Goat Curry, and Oxtail were all delicious. Each dish was packed with flavor and properly cooked. I just wished it had more heat, but that is a personal choice. They have a great cocktail menu which is reasonably priced. I would definitely go back again.

first i just wanna shout out our amazing server justin! he was super friendly and made our experience great! we tried a couple of his recommendations and we were not disappointed! highly recommend the pan seared snapper!! everything about it was great! jerk chicken was a little bit on the dry side but still good! this place gets busy so expect to be on the waitlist for 35mins+

The food here is great. My food was hot and served on time. All the staff are friendly , very helpful, and attentive. I enjoyed the atmosphere ;the music playing and the cleanliness is on par. My first time eating here. I definitely recommend this restaurant.
