Dr Ken Hughes

Dr, K F Hughes MD, successfully performed a replacement operation on my left knee last December. At 87 years old, many things could have gone wrong, however the operation has been completely successful. I just need to double down on the exercises to regain most of the mobility and balance I had twenty years ago.

Dr. Ken Hughes may be an accomplished surgeon but he has forgotten some things. This is a team effort and the patient is very much a part of the team. Dr. Hughes seems to have a bit of a god complex he dissmisses the views of the patient. On January 8th 2021 I had Hip replacement surgery of my right hip. at Richmond General on a Friday morning. I did not see or speak to him before the procedure. I was wearing a red wrist band warning of a problem with codine yet he continued to prescribe it to me for several days during which time I was vommitting a lot. Then he discharged me on the sunday with a script for tylenol #3 that contains a fair amount of codine. This is how I became aware of what had been making me so ill. early sunday morning before discharge he stopped in to see me. From 25 feet away in the dark he sactimonusley listened to what I had to say with little comment and left.After doing so he was unavailable to change the perscription as it was now his day off. so a different doctor wrote up another for a different pain killer but did not include the blood thinner also needed. So this was impossible to fill. The one Dr Hughes Wrote up did not include the dosage. after a lot of messing around the phamasist was able to fix this problem. no thanks to Dr. Hughes. I am sorry I every met this surgeon and will criticize him to ALL I meet.
