University of Alberta Protective Services

Tried to call regarding a lost item and the lady that answered the phone was extremely rude and condescending. Received no help or guidance whatsoever. I went to the building in which I lost the item and they told me UAPS would be able to help. Yeah, not the case. I’ll be filing a formal complaint through the university regarding whoever answered that phone. Ridiculous.

No one at the front desk for a while

After sitting in the dark for 40 minutes due to a power outage in residences, I called to ask if they could tell me when we would have power. The lady on the phone was extremely rude, and hung up on me. I spoke maybe less than 10 words. She spent quadruple the time I talked just to tell me she had to let me go. She then hung up before I could say anything in response.

UAPS doesn't need to exist; it is useless.

You'd be better off spending your time selling shoes to a snake than calling these clowns

Amazing. Prompt and professional. Available 24/7. I was locked out of my office on a Sunday after 4 pm. As a new faculty staff member, I left my access card and belongings in my office while stepping out to use the washroom. Little did I know, the doors would automatically lock from the outside on weekends. There were no other faculty staff in the building. I had no cell phone, no access card, no wallet and no car keys. I called Protective Services using the hospital telephone across the building and they were prompt, arriving in about 20 minutes. This would have been a disaster as I started to teach the next day and all my teaching materials were in the office. Thank you Protective Services! I really appreciate you being available on the weekends, after hours.

It's too bad the don't have negative integer stars for reviews, this outfit does as much good as a zipper on your pajamas. At least we know what happened to all the red crayons.
