Western Budget Ponoka

Room size was decent, air conditioning worked well. Absolutely loved the fireplace. Tub was a nice size for the cold nights. The beds although were rock solid, the sheets were very nice and clean BUT the rest of the bedding was very uncomfortable and scratchy. Could use some updating. Carpets were a bit stained but overall the whole room was very clean and the kitchenette was a great touch. The use of the key card to get into the hotel late at night was very safe feeling. Tv was very small and so very far away from the beds, also could use updating. Overall my stay was great. Would recommend, especially for the price. Fyi the staff at the front desk is a bit lacking at checkout (in the morning) literally had to call the hotel to get someone to the desk.

Do not stay.Unclean. Terrible Customer Service.No Value for Price. All amenities are shutdown (continental breakfast, pool, no room cleaning, no fresh towels, no replenished shampoo/conditioners, not enough parking. no access to lobby or front desk after 8PM.Just the worst.

Pros: Nice big room. Full size fridge & stove. Good WiFi. Has Coffee maker & toaster. Good laundry on site. Lots of room.Cons: Pool has been closed for 2 years and it appears there are no plans to reopen it. No micro wave. A/C is undersized for the room. Main entrance is locked up 9 pm. Only entrance is through a side stairwell. Very few cooking items. 1 small pot & fry pan. Great staff.

Rooms are heated with a fireplace. Bathrooms have hair dryers. Complete kitchen with coffee maker, including four coffee packs. Pool is currently empty after Covid, and they don't have a continental breakfast again yet. Comfortable and pretty quiet.

My wife and I have stayed here many times, and for the most part, we love it. I say for the most part" because the beds are uncomfortable and not conducive to a good night's sleep. However

Was lucky to get a room with acceptable AC during the a summer heat wave, hallways were insanely HOT, no pool, no breakfast, and the hotel didn’t open until 8am to check out, I get COVID played a part in the hotel losing staff, but come on.

My friends and I stayed there this weekend and the front desk staff were awesome, we were much later arriving than anticipated and they called to check we were ok (wildfires everywhere in that part of Alberta) we were and only 4 minutes out. We got a great room, ground floor as my friend is handicap on short notice, we had had a hotel room booked for a month when last minute they cancelled our room, the online company we booked with recommended us to book at Western Budget, so happy we did!!!! Hotel is clean, clean rooms and such nice staff!! Really happy the other place cancelled, as we had a really a great stress free weekend!!! Thank you so much Linda

I admit I was shocked. For only $80 (thanks to booking.com) , I had a suite complete with kitchenette and fireplace. Clean, modern with a weird anachronistic design, this hotel was probably the biggest bang for the buck hotel I've ever had. If the breakfast and pool was available , I'd have rated it 5 stars.

Good people. Place ultra clean. Comfortable beds. Rooms so roomy make the room so comfortable for a stay short long stay. I do miss being able to have a small easy breakfast and coffee. Great place

The customer service is not only incomprehensible, but I was forced to sleep, shower in a dirty room. I requested for the room to be cleaned as I was out on my daily routine, to return much later and my room had still been untouched. I would not recommend this location to anyone looking for a customer service friendly location with CLEAN and environmentally safe rooms.
