Rick's Custom Rods and Auto Repair
I've been working with Rick's Custom Rods for over a year. I restore old cars as a hobby and am working on two right now. I have read some of the negative reviews that have been posted and although Rick and I have had a couple of issues, he has always made things right.When you are restoring vintage cars, you don't know the real condition of the car until it's torn apart. For that reason it is almost impossible to give an accurate estimate of cost until the needed repairs are determined. This can't be done by a simple visual inspection.This isn't a cheap hobby. Expect the worst. Rick and Hans will work with you. It's very rewarding to drive off in a restored classic.

The worst service possible. The staff is rude lies about what your being charged. I took my car there 5 months to supposedly fix it payed him cash it wasn't fixed I had to go to a real body shop in Nampa to fix all the damage he and his crew did. I'm posting this because I don't want other people to go though what I went though there not experienced and shouldn't be let with 50 feet of a car unless you wanna get it back then have take it else where to get it fixed right DON'T LET THESE PEOPLE take you like they did me . If I could rate it less than 1 star I would .

Rick's is the best place in the western treasure valley to take your vehicle. I've never been over charged, they always go out of the way to help me out. I had an emergency out of town and they helped me get a new battery under warranty. Their followup is amazing. The friendliest and most helpful staff around.

My husband and I were having truck issues driving to Arkansas from Washington We looked up the closest mechanic. The first shop said 3 days. My husband called Rick's. He looked and solved the problem, ordered the part and fixed it with hardly no wait time. Excellent Customer Service. Thank you all so much!

I drove my truck to their shop. I repeat I DROVE my truck to their shop to have a radiator and transmission replaced. The vehicle ran fine when I brought it in, just slipping in the transmission. When they replaced the transmission, they put 13 quarts of fluid in, but maximum recommended capacity for the vehicle is only 10 quarts. This caused an over pressure situation which blew out the pump seal. They wanted to charge me for the repairs on the transmission. At some point during the process of removing and installing the transmission TWICE the mechanic physically broke off the crankshaft position sensor, causing the vehicle to barely run at idle, and immediately die once tIt was put in gear. Rick tried to tell me it was because someone had the firing order wrong. When he said the vehicle was ready"

We all have gotten that anxiety attack when your car breaks down and don’t know what to do or when we get a sweet new ride and want to upgrade it and make it in to a beast! It’s hard to find a mechanic you can trust and who does great work with a responsable price! I have always taken my car to Ricks. They treat everyone like family and with respect and always have gotten the job done and do everything in a professional manner. Out of all the mechanic shops I’ve been to I recommend Ricks.
