The Crossing at Grasslands

Neil and Susan were very welcoming and ensured we had all we needed. Clean, good bed, complete kitchen. No outdoor lights that interfere with star gazing! A contemplative labyrinth, and the shortest ride into Grasslands Park!

Stayed at the Crossing during a mix of business and personal in the area and I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable it was there. The room I had was super quiet and what an amazing view of the hills and sunset. The suite was tastefully furnished and well laid out and very clean and new. Comfortable bed with quality linens and all the kitchen stuff needed. Felt more like a condo than a hotel room. I must return in the summer and explore the area including the fascinating rock labyrinth you can see from the access road. An amazing little discovery in the beautiful and vast prairie!

Location, location, location. Just stayed 3 nights at The Crossing, it was great. Our suite was very comfortable, and had everything we needed for our stay. The Crossing is situated on the edge of Grasslands NP, the park is a place every Canadian should visit. The night skies are incredible. Thanks Susan and Neil.

We loved the Crossing at Grasslands. It's a perfect location for exploring the park. We enjoyed listening to the birds in the morning and the coyotes at night. The suite is lovely and has everything we needed for a comfortable stay including a deck with a great view of the grasslands. We highly recommend it.

We stayed here at the end of June & would recommend it when visiting the Grassland National Park. The cottage was wonderful, very clean & equipped with everything you could need. The location was very quiet, our balcony looked south to the hills where we enjoyed watching the wildlife passing by. The hosts were great & available for anything you might need. We hope to return someday!

There is no other place I would stay if we come back again someday. We were there in September which is a beautiful time to visit the park. The Crossing is so quiet and the view from our deck was the Grasslands National Park and closer to the suite was a pond and an old barn. An amazing willow tree which is the essence of the property clings to the bank of the pond. The only way I can describe it is 'peaceful'. (except when the coyotes started howling in the evening) The coyotes singing and the expanse of stars at night just added to the feeling of remoteness in the area. The suite has a lovely little balcony to relax on after a day of hiking. We also enjoyed it for our morning coffee as it faced east. Everything was very clean with good quality bedding and a well supplied kitchen. The labyrinth on the property is another amazing feature to check out. Whether you are into a meditative walk or just like to see unique imagery and patterns it is worth going to see this serene spot on the property. The Crossing is easy to get to and only 6 km to the nearest town for supplies. Our hosts couldn't have been nicer and were glad to answers all of our questions and give us some advice about the area. We really appreciated our stay.

We came to visit the Grasslands National park and The Crossing was perfectly located. We could reach the top park trails quickly.The suite itself was clean and had enough room for our family. The kitchen was ready for us to cook and the beds were comfortable.We would stay here again :)

The setting is extraordinary. The hosts were welcoming, knowledgeable, friendly. The suite was comfortable, the kitchen well furnished, the barbecue a welcome addition. The site is perched next to the national park and the views are incredible. It's also a stone's throw from Val Marie and a well stocked grocery, a hotel that serves great ice cream, and the park visitor centre. It's well worth it.

We've been all over Canada and loved every place we've been to. What a great country! Grasslands national Park is one of the most amazing experiences we've had. If you want grasslands, then the Crossing at Grasslands is a perfect place to experience it. The park is right outside your condo door! Brilliant. Grasslands is a hikers dream. It has trails for all abilities. We're in our mid 70s and made all the hikes we wanted, including up to 70 Mile Butte. We saw teepee rings, old homesteads and the clear remains of cowboy culture. What an amazing town Val Marie is - The Home Town of Bryan Trottier!! We recommend it!
