Hertz Car Rental - Ferndale - Woodward HLE

The worst! Car was booked last minute so it was a 30 minute drive from the airport (my problem not theirs) but it was booked through Expedia and was supposed to be ready to go. It was not AT ALL! The required an extra deposit and payments. Coincidentally, titleholder deposit is the same as the smoke cleaning fee…(ok fine I get that) BUT I get in the car and can immediately tell the person before smoked. The window shield was caked in nicotine. The whole car was sticky and could tell it’s been smoked in! Of course, we cleaned it out before returning it, just so we can get the deposit. They didn’t walk around the car or anything so I wasn’t getting blamed for what I didn’t do. But the location was closed when the car was dropped off and had to drop the keys in the box. We were on our way to the airport and I realized I left my phone in the car. Called corporate and they offered no help whatsoever. I live across the country and need my phone for work and everything. I have called the location all day today and nobody will answer. Corporate says they have no way to contact them either, which makes no sense, you can’t call or email a location?! Every other location answers and this is the only one that won’t. All we are trying to do is see if a family member can pick it up. Absolutely no compassion in this company (corporate mostly), I will never even think to book with Hertz ever again. It was bad enough that I was supposed to have an SUV and only got a tiny Corolla. But to have locations that can’t be called and a corporation that shows no compassion is horrible.

Car was a little dirty but everything went smooth I did everything online and had all the necessary things that they ask to rent a vehicle.

The initial contact of the senior team member/manager was unpleasant until she realized I was a Hertz Gold+ member.Need to add a complimentary upgrade" to my next rental. # ending in 77996Hertz

Nick the GM is the man! Consistent, tenured, fair and runs a great shop!Feel for him with his revolving door of employees, however, isn't that an issue just about everywhere living in a post Covid world. Looks like he found a great guy (Tony) 5 stars for these two!

Vehicle was not cleaned beforehand. Oil light came on while I was out of town. Vehicle required oil and I can't speak with anyone at Hertz regarding reimbursement for purchasing oil. Oil stick was dry.

I'm a rewards member i paid for everything over the phone except the deposit they tried to run my card it was locked. I go up there all of a sudden they can't run my card again and can't use my specific card but it was fine when yall took the 226 now I have to wait 7-10 business days for a refund but the gag is the Manger Nicholas rosette said book again thru the app and u will be fine so pay again. For another rental and use the card yall say you can't use

This is the worst car rental place ever!! Do not go to the Woodward location, it’s one staff member working and she had her mean face on and her attitude is horrible. I rented a tesla she didn’t want to help me on figuring the car out , charging station and etc . Then when I returned the vehicle In I was asking her about the receipt. She said go on line for you receipt ! She definitely needs to be removed from front desk to washing the cars because she obviously doesn’t like her job.

The customer service at this location has become poor. I have spent approximately $10,000 on rentals in the last year at the Ferndale, Mi. location. This location never recommends any promotions, the cleanliness of the cars are not consistent, never receive the requested car, and, this staff rarely answers the phone. There will be a problem with your reservation via the app and you will be overcharged unjustly. It doesn't matter if you pay now or later. Do not place a credit card on file because it will be charged randomly. This location will not do anything to accommodate you and the manager Nicholas will be unavailable. If you must deal with this location, keep a close eye on your credit card. This staff doesn't believe in the customer is always right and does nothing to resolve your issues.

My car insurance recommended this place, but you can't talk to anyone on the phone to make an appointment. It's just recordings and it hangs up on you if you press 0". So I'm going to use another place."

I’m currently in a rental because my vehicle was stolen. I am unhappy with the vehicle Hertz had me in. The windshield wipers all 3 are awful. The panel where you adjust your seat is detached from the seat. Now the warning light for the auto start is on. I’m trying to contact the office and they do not answer the phone. This is my fourth time renting from them thru my insurance and it will be my last. How can you not answer the phone at a place of business?
