Ontario Works Central Office

The place and the system are a joke. 1 in 10 workers doesn't just judge you on first look the rest treat you like a number and a disgusting one at that. It takes forever to get on disability and even when you do they barely give you enough to survive or help with half your medical expenses. Even worse are those on oontario works considering they only give you 400 a month for rent in a city where the lowest one bedroom rates are 750 plus and even rooms can be 600 or more forcing you to basically get a sketchy bad situation roommate who's more likely to stab you in your sleep then pay the rent on time or share a 1 bedroom with 4 other people to afford it. For a system that's supposed to help it fails on every level and the staff need an overhaul.

I'm very thankful for Ontario Works but, the front desk staff is very rude most times. On top of them being rude, paperwork that clients are obligated to hand in, in person, mysteriously go missing"...It's not professional and extremely frustrating because clients are going without and suffering for their "mistakes"Shame on you Ontario works front desk staff..."

I have a family of 4 including a 2 year old which is my son. I’ve move from markham because of rent issues with my previous landlord I’ve transfer my files (OW) down to Hamilton an went to the family shelter good shepherd they told us to come that they can assist us we came this far for them to say the city can’t assist us the reasons there given makes no gaddam sense at all oh because we have no history in Hamilton I had no history is peel but was helped perfect from peel if I could give 0 stars ⭐️ I would

Great services for the people whom are in need of assistance. Would be great if the public bathrooms were better monitored, as too many people are abusing them and leaving them in disarray for others with handi-caps or children. In all great location easily accessible.

IMPORTANT FOR OW PATIENTS. I was an OW patient in one of not many OW physiotherapy centers after my accident. After first session I wanted to change the clinic. I can't believe it is possible in Canada, but I am forced by the system to stay in this clinic where I do not want to be and I have reason for it. OHIP won't cover my 5 remaining sessions in any other OW clinic. I lost those sessions. I spend a day to call OHIP and I got it in writing by e-mail. It is true.

Don’t even get me started.. all they do is lie, documents magically go “missing” no communication for weeks.

The worker that I encountered was lovely and very helpful.

The staff was snarly to the people in need. They wouldn't be there if they didn't have to be. Be patient and kind.

Terrible service jen O'Brian has not made a payment for me since Nov 29 and called the cops on my once if your looking for financial help do not try this office I've been struggling for 2 months now and they do not care or return calls its unprofessional and not right ....
