Always satisfied with the pork belly plate, although the guava BBQ short ribs is also a good choice. The fried plantain is a hit-and-miss, some time sweet some time bland. The cuban coffee offering is one to try for too! The only downside is the price, but otherwise they have tasty food.

It had the pork belly sandwich. It was okay but not impressive. The pork belly is soft big portion but definitely need fork and knife to eat! The mango is normal but quite expensive for $7

I’ve heard of this place from friends and finally had the chance to try it. I was hungry so ordered the honey glazed pork belly plate ($24) instead of the cuban sandwich ($17, sides cost extra). The plate was very filling- meat, rice and beans, tostones, red cabbage slaw and salsa. Took away a star because the whole plate was very oily, perhaps the kitchen put the fried pork directly on the plate from the fryer.

Food was great. We ordered short ribs, shrimp and empanadas. Everything was nice and fresh. Short ribs were nice and tender, the shrimps were flavourful - we like it so much we ordered them twice. The drinks were great too. The mango margarita was nice. It wasn’t as sweet as I thought it would be so I was happy about that.

I was looking forward to trying their food and checking out the speakeasy bar.We initially went when they opened but were turned back saying the bar was fullThe server advised they're open till midnight which also reflected the time on Google. When we returned around 10:30 pm: They were closed. That being said, please be mindful if you're planning on going here in the future.Nevertheless, the server was nice enough to let us walk in and check out the speakeasy bar: It looked very interesting and the food also looked appetizing on the front end.UPDATEAfter dining in, I keep the rating about the same. Food was mediocre. Presentation of the food and the atmosphere was really nice.

Really wanted to love this place, and was highly anticipating the vegetarian sandwich, but it wasn’t for me!Found the buns too airy, the filling was very mediocre and there was no Cuban flavour that stood out to me. The vegetarian plate was beautiful, but didn’t find it especially flavourful. The plaintains had zero seasoning.I will say considering the location, it’s wonderfully affordable. 3 dishes amongst two people was $20 per person before tip.Overall, hoping they add more interesting and flavourful vegetarian options in the future!

Food was very good but not worth the price. $22 for a Cubano sandwich with no side. The braised beef was $30 and small. The Cortado was amazing! We would come back for that

Wonderful spot for lunch, their pressed Cubano is absolutely delicious (pair with fries for maximum enjoyment). Beautifully decorated and staffed with the friendliest of servers. Be sure to stop by if you’re in the area!

This was my first time having Cuban food. My friend and I each ordered a main dish (I chose the pork belly), and I found that the prices for the mains (almost $25) are a bit high in relation to the portion and the laid-back vibe of the restaurant – but it’s possible that rents are expensive along Ossington…The pork belly main did had great flavours, especially with the pineapple salsa. I also enjoyed the tostones – a different way of making fried plantains compared with those at other Caribbean restaurants. The standout of the restaurant, however, were the drinks and the décor. I had the Cuban coffee and it was very strong and refreshing – just what I needed at the time! My friend had the mango colada and he enjoyed it as well. And the restaurant’s interior design was very characteristic and photogenic! The tiles, the font, and even the menu design, you could tell they put a lot of thought into it! It also gives a casual vibe, like you would feel comfortable walking in with just a T-shirt and shorts, compared with some more upscale brunch places – but then the prices here are comparable if not actually more expensive than those places, hence a 4/5. Overall, still worth trying out!

Good food and good experience overall at the Ossington branch. We enjoyed the vintage sodas, avocado salad, the classic Cuban sandwich, pork belly sandwich, and chicken plate. I was really happy with the Cuban sandwich. Slightly expensive for portion size—though prices and sizes are on par with other Toronto restaurants. I'm rating it highly because the food was enjoyable Cuban comfort food—exactly what it's described as. Loved the retro diner vibe. Very busy on weekend afternoons, though! One of our servers was particularly nice—and cute (the guy with the tattoos on his left arm... sorry just had to put that out there!)
