TL;DR: For your own health and safety, skip this place.We wanted to like Jav's. It's got decent ratings, and the stuff online looked really good! Maybe that was all weekend buffet and brunch food because the buffet dinner on a Friday night was sad. We were the only ones in the restaurant, the food was old and unappetizing, and a couple of our people decided that they weren't comfortable with the food safety of the place (steam tray food temps were low) and left all their food before paying and leaving.Conceptually, this should have been an awesome throwback to my time on the islands. Pancit, lumpia, lechon, and more. The reality was an empty restaurant with - there's no kind way to put this - ugly looking dried out trays of unidentifiable foods. The staff really didn't seem to care about the food or the customers. The decor was functional, the karaoke machine was ear-shatteringly loud, and the restaurant didn't actually look clean.Sigh. Definitely not a positive experience.

So we took our coworkers here who has never tried Filipino food before. Sadly there was nothing to run about other than it was just okay. The food in the buffet tray isn’t warm and selection is quite limited. Even our coworkers who aren’t Filipino thought it didn’t taste good. We were kind of embarrassed for suggesting the place.The ambiance is good though and restaurant is clean. I highly suggest management to work on their most important product.Respectfully the price for the buffet is not reflected to the quality of the food served.

Normal, not that many options for buffet. For me, the price is pretty high. However, Halo Halo is bussin and also Leche Flan, but price is a bit pricy.

Very easily the best Filipino restaurant.The all-you-can eat dinner is a true feast prepared in the manner of your Filipino Tito. If you don’t have one, then this is a looking glass into the culture and your gateway to the finest no frills dining.The three chefs I met - Alan, Don & Phillip - are from Pampanga but the dishes represent the whole country.For dinner, you’ll find the classics - Chicken Adobo, Lechon, Pancit Canton, Fried Chicken, Dinuguan, Sio Mai, Pork Bopis.The two main dishes I want to highlight:Ginisang Ampalaya at Bangus - Cooked to simple tender perfection. Bitter melon is a hard ingredient to handle because of its distinct flavor but they treated the vegetable with care and used the proper amount of acid to let the fish act as the star while letting its Filipino supporting actors shine too.Sinigang - A genius riff and amalgam of cuisines were the chefs used a generous amount of pickled mustards with the standard vegetables to create the perfect soup. What’s more, instead of using short ribs or smaller cuts of pork with more meat, they’ve opted to use huge cuts of pork bone which really flavor the broth to the next level.I’m sad to leave Surrey but it was a true pleasure to have found this place. Not sure what else is in this town but rest assured, you know there’s Jav’s Kaldero.

Ordered halo-halo and turon for snack and laing and bbq for dinner, the turon was good but not a fan of the chocolate toping should have stick with the melted sugar, the halo-halo is by far the best from all the halo-halo around that i have tried, it has a unique taste and mix that other generic straight outta bottle halo-halo around filipino restaurants that don’t have. Also the laing is good and last is stay away from the bbq its bland and over priced. Overall i would give it a 4/5 and will still comeback and try other dishes and try the all you can eat. Also the restaurant is clean and the staff are very nice.

Friday evening 7pm not one customer in the house. Big pot of Bicol Express on the stove (but still 20 minutes wait). Partner got Bangus. I got pancit canton. The buffet looked like all Filipino buffets, for me not appetizing, but Filipinos love strange (looking) food (haha). My Filipino partner did all the talking and ordering. I just ate. We’ll be back cuz it’s authentic looking Filipino food and my partner really misses Filipino food. I wanna try their Bicol Express.

We went for a dinner the food was so good and very affordable. The staff were very friendly and approachable. Kudos to this pinoy restaurant. Thanks for the karaoke….will surely come back next time…

Smallest cup of cold, chewy, lechon kawali for $20. So disappointing. Probably just leftovers. Other orders like spaghetti and chicken skin were really good portion though.

Good food and pleasant Filipino atmosphere. Went for brunch but will def be back for buffet!
