Au Liban

Absolutely delicious! The flavors of the fresh and authentic Lebanese cuisine took me back to my time spent in Lebanon.My friends and I had a pleasant and delightful dining experience. The G-signature drink was heavenly and the Kibbe Nayye dish was tender and packed with flavor!The ambiance was cozy and inviting with the stunning Gothic/modern interior! – a true gem for Lebanese food lovers in Halifax!

You have to eat at Au Liban. The food is incredible and everything we ate from the Cold/Hot Mezzas and Tapas to the Kafta Kebab with garlic sauce and Ashta Ice Cream was all phenomenal. The atmosphere was very energetic with great music and the service was top notch. They also did a wonderful job designing the restaurant as it looks beautiful inside. I highly recommend experiencing this restaurant!

Recently visited this restaurant and it definitely did not disappoint. When we walked in we were warmly greeted by the hostess. Then directed to the bar for drinks. At the bar, JackJack and Mark took extra special care of us. They were friendly, professional and offered great conversation. The drinks were refreshing and tasted amazing. Then we decided to stay for food. Our server was AMAZING. She was very knowledgeable of the menu items and made great suggestions. The food is made as shareable so my friends and I ordered several items to try out, everything was 10/10. So enjoyable and delicious. Perfectly seasoned and flavourful. We could not find anything to complain about. It was simply that good! The desserts were also very unique and added a special touch to the experience. I would definitely be back. Truly enjoyed this experience and the team was soo wonderful to us! The food price is a bit pricey but so worth is and great portions.

The decor will be familiar to those who tried Hermitage. It's a nice space, but nothing particularly remarkable. It's the food where this place shines. The mezzas are beautifully prepared, and the staff are knowledgeable. They have somehow managed to cook octopus to perfection. The Monk was another highlight. The portions are somewhat small for the price, but worth it for the quality. Probably the best Lebanese fine dining in Halifax.

As a Lebanese I can definitely say it was great coming here. They nailed the presentation, flavour and texture of the food. The kibbeh I had reminded me of the one my Teta used to make for me as a kid, delicious with a pleasant hit of nostalgia, and the hummus was silky smooth and packed a nice lemon-garlicky punch. Thank you to Laura for being so kind to me and with providing excellent service, not to mention the atmosphere and decor was breathtaking inside! Will be coming again if I’m back in town!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Au Libon this past weekend. New to Lebanese cuisine wehad lots of questions. Staff were friendly, professional, knowledgeable and very helpful. Food was not only delicious but beautifully presented. It was fun sharing several dishes with my husband. Atmosphere was comfortable, warm and welcoming.The bar was stunning with the beautiful tree of life feature. We definitely will be back.

My partner took me on a surprise date night here. It started with an amazing server who was personable and a delight! She was authentic with her dinner and drink suggestions, which I appreciate. Next, came the food…so delicious and full of flavour! I find some middle eastern restaurants skimp on some of the flavour but this place packed a punch! Lemony, garlicky, citrusy cherry and pomegranate flavours!! Perfectly salted and seasoned, the food was the best middle eastern we’ve had. For reference we got the octopus, au Liban hummus, cherry kebab balls, and the monk salad. The octopus truly was so delicious. We never knew it could be cooked that tender. It felt more like kings crab than the typical rubbery octopus served at restaurants. With those four small plates, we were stuffed! This place is perfect and we hope it thrives! The only catch is that it’s a bit on the pricier end. Also to note, it’s meant for people who appreciate sharing and enjoying food together. Not the place to buy your own app and entree. Trying many things is how to do it!!

Shared the dips and got the calamari and the ice cream dessert for myself. Everything was great but the calamari was next level.I was expecting a fried calamari dish but it was grilled but that was the best thing that could have happened.First bite, just melted in your mouth, full of flavour.Second bite, I couldn’t wait to taste another bite.Third bite, I wanted to taste everything on the menu.Fourth bite, I was already planning on bringing my loved ones and even recommending this place to my worse enemy.Fifth bite, I found myself debating asking the kitchen if I can work for them for free to learn how they do thinner around here.Never wrote review to anywhere before and this place just made me.

While walking down Hollis street I asked directions from a random young man on Hollis Street to another restaurant close by and he introduced him self as John the owner of the newly open Lebanese restaurant Au Liban and kindly suggested his dinning experience. My friend and I said sure and off we went. We shared the calamari and the chicken skewers with the sides. Bar none it was one of the best restaurant meals I have experienced in awhile and certainly warrants the high reveiw. Very good atmosphere and it was pretty busy for a Wednesday night. John introduced us to his dad and he sat down with us for a good old maritime yarn. A must try!

This beautiful restaurant hasn’t opened yet however their service is special. My husband hit his head on a stop sign down the street. George saw it happen and invited us in , gave him ice, then cleaned and bandaged his injury. Service with a heartwarming smile.
