Chartwell Hampton House Retirement Residence

Hampton House Retirement Residence is like living in an all inclusive resort. Food, activities, and entertainment is all included! I eat like a king and dining is enjoyable again as I am not alone.

I was advised by people saying that after your husband passes, don’t make any rash decisions or big decisions. Wait 1-2 years which I did. Then between my son, sister and myself, we started to look at retirement living. From White Rock to Chilliwack my son took me out for several days in the afternoons to look for places and I kinda liked Hampton House. I went back a week later with my whole family, which was a Thursday. There was live music and people drinking wine. It was just a good atmosphere. I said to my son “This is it, son. I’m not going to look at any other places”. He said “I’m happy for you mom and you are right!” This was 6 years ago and the place feels like home.

My mom lives in Hampton House and loves it, as it has a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, with warm and caring staff. She has met many new friends, which has allowed her to begin a new chapter in her life. Tracey, the Activities Coordinator, makes sure there are activities for everyone. She is always organizing new events, taking into consideration the wants and needs of the tenants. I feel very content that my mom is living in such a happy place!

Writing this review in regards to Helen Sale's experiance living at Hampton House for the last year and a half.We found the staff very helpful and pleasant and in more ways than one made Helen's stay a very enjoyable one.If and when we had to call and ask questions or ask for favours it was never a problem, and the staff in the office were always very friendly and courteous.In closing a big thank you to all the staff at Hampton House for making my sister and sister in laws stay a very enjoyable one.SincerelySusan and Duncan McLachlan

It's a mere five and a half months since I moved into my delightful apartment in Hampton House in Chilliwack with my 'adopted' King Charles spaniel, Tucker.The two of us have made so many friends among the residents and the caring staff that it feels like much longer. We feel at home here, and don't envision ever wanting to leave.What led to choosing Hampton House? As if often the case the exterior took my attention, then I arranged for a tour. The inside was even better, and I tucked that away in my 'future' pocket. When circumstances allowed, I was in! And not a glance backward.What do we old folks do all day? Exactly what we want to! We can loll around and watch TV, read or pursue our hobbies if we feel like being alone. Or, we can join in organized and unorganized activities as it suits the fancy of each one of us. We have some adept pool players here! Clubs, crafts and innumerable fun activities -- they all add to a fun and positive living experience. Toss in the wonderful staff and camaraderie, and you could want to nothing.Are you think it's getting to be the time to give up the gardening, the upkeep and the housework in your house, with diminishing strength and stamina for dealing with it all? Has your group of old friends been getting smaller and you are beginning to feel lonely at times? Give some thought to Hampton House. You will live in a lovely home, with friends and helpers around you, just as I am. Making the decision yourself rather than waiting until others make it for you is always the best.

Well my mom lives in this complex. The place is nice very welcoming and warm according to mom the dinners are good. The only beef is not a lot of outings

Thank you to all the staff at Chartwell Hampton House for their continued wonderful care and support of our mom during covid. The staff are exceptional, always caring, compassionate and kind. They go above and beyond to ensure the residents are well looked after, especially during these times when it isn't always possible for family to visit. Our mom is so happy to be living at Hampton House and is just can't say enough about the amazing staff. We continue to be very pleased with Hampton House for our mom. Thank you

The organization I work for received a donation from a group of residents for Ukraine last year and that just warmed my heart. I think it’s pretty telling that Hampton House fosters a pretty amazingly caring community.

I don’t know why my truthful review was removed. Meals are now cheap - they changed food suppliers - last night was beans and greasy sausage. Everyone is complaining. The housekeeping don’t do a good job and my friend’s place is disgusting. They just push the dirt to the corners. The a/c was cleaned once just a month ago and it was still filthy. Dust is everywhere and never done. I helped clean in her place and the dust was so thick on her red runner on her counter, it looked pink. The carpet is filthy. Anyway, hopefully this one gets left up. After all, we want a truthful report.

Where to start! The things I love about Hampton House are:The friendships you make with the residents.The care and the concern that the staff have for you. They go way beyond to make sure that you feel comfortable here.There is no need for seniors to have stress of getting groceries, meals, paying taxes. Really, everything that comes from owning your own home, it’s all pretty much looked after here.For residents who experience mobility issues and maybe loose their drivers license or ability to drive, this is a place you can feel comfortable again and not have to depend on everybody.I am also so very impressed with the facility. It is very well looked after and maintained.Housekeeping is done once a week where your room is completely cleaned, bedding washed and re made.We are so close to South Gate mall and the hospital which are all within easy walking distance.Lastly, the activities are taking place all the time from entertainment to hockey nights, card games and more. A person can be as social as they want to be or as private as they want to be. The living room is especially nice to socialize or sit back and relax.
