Dr. Randy Rizek

Prior to having ankle fusion surgery I researched Dr. Rizek on- line and read about wait times, how young he is and about his ”beside manner”. I went to my first appointment with an open mind and did wait. I also was given my options and clear instructions on what he expected of me for him to do surgery as I am a stupid smoker (my words, not his.) For my follow up appointment I researched my options and prepared a list of questions to ask him. All my questions were answered without a lot of fluff or over explanation which I personally liked. Dr. Rizek also explained (with great concern) any possible complications of the surgery I chose.Because everyone feels pain differently and heals at different rates, medicine is not an exact science and there are some questions that cannot be answered with exact details. This Doctor may not have 20 or 30 years of surgical experience but his education and training is current. I personally like knowing this as my previous family Doctor of over 30 years was too set in his ways. He told me there was nothing that could be done about my ankle when in fact there had been several new options available for many years.Waiting for a specialist is not exclusive to Doctor Rizek, it is the unfortunate inconvenience of an overburdened health care system and the fact that emergency surgeries happen. If he seems rushed, he is! I don’t like waiting any more than the next person and get ticked too, but at least we have professionals like him in this country.I have met with Doctor Rizek at least eight times before and after surgery. He is polite and to the point and I did not find him rude or lacking compassion. I found he has a sense of humor and loved the fact that he smiled when he looked at my last set of x rays and told me the fusion had worked.Lastly, do your own research on any options available to you and make a list of questions. Make sure to know what you will need for care after surgery. I found that between the Doctors office and the Hospital there seems to be an oversight on who gives out this information. Again, thank God I did my research!I would recommend Doctor Rizek to anyone and I would ask to be referred to him again should I require an orthopedic surgeon in the future.

was referred to Dr. Rizek around Ja./23 at appointment he said should be no time issue for rt.hip replacement in short order called monday May 1 was told to leave message and would call back he never did went to office today they said i was never there no record of me-- even with x-ray from gama same day as appointment---How Do They Lose People

This surgeon was one of the best things that has ever happened to me. After 4 years of having a broken leg and ankle issues, he was able and willing to fix me. At 21 years old I had post traumatic arthritis in my ankle, and the smaller bone in my leg was broken. For years I was barely able to function due to the excruciating pain, and other doctors had barely looked at my injury. He was thorough and seemed to actually care about my injuries and how they affected me. I was able to see him within a month of my referral and had my surgery one month after my initial appointment. His receptionist is lovely, and he was very respectful and listened more than most doctors I have seen in my life. I highly suggest him to anyone needing orthopedic surgery, I am so thankful. He gave me my life back.

I have a ruptured achilles, my doctor referred me to this doctor. My doctor had said if they do not contact me in a week, to give them a call, nobody picked up and I left a message 2 days in a row. I called back on an early friday morning and the receptionist picked up. She said she would call me NEXT WEEK to schedule me an appointment, I have asked if we can schedule now She rudely reminded me she would schedule me next week... guess what?? 1 week and a day passed, it's Saturday today and I didn't get a call back... so heres my review and I'm moving onto another Orthopedic.onto another orthopedic.

ZERO stars! The staff and the services are extremely terrible. My mother was referred for severe arthritis by the MSK clinic at the Brampton civic and we’ve been told the doctor is nice etc but if he refuses to spend more than 5 mins with the patient I don’t know how good that can be. Anyway got back to the msk clinic for another doctor and for surgery had to call his office again. The receptionist is extremely rude and hung on my sister before she could even say anything or ask a question. Happened multiple times and extremely unfair because patients and NOK are only seeking essential services. It’s not like we are calling for general chit chats. If the services are so bad and being such a barrier I think it’s better off to go somewhere else where you are respected and your need for essential medical care is well attended both by the doctor and the clinic staff. Making a formal complaint against this clinic because this is unacceptable and this kind of substandard service is not expected in a first world country like Canada.

My dad Pritam Singh had both knees done with Dr. Rizek. Amazing results from both surgeries and the wait list was not bad either. I would highly recommend this doctor to anyone who need knee replacement. Naaz, the receptionist is also very helpful and good manners. Always return your phone messages and give you the clear instructions for the surgery. Great team work!

Dr. Randy your secretary does not understand the basics of communication. She failed to inform us about coming back to see you after x-rays. When we came back even you did not acknowledge this and began the consultation process like nothing happened. I have tasks to complete as well just like you, when your team fails to lead patients through your process, and display lack of accountability, you screw both of us over. Either get someone competent enough to inform clients effective, or do it yourself. She hangs up the phone when you call her out on her mistake and greets you sarcastically when you come back. Despite all of this information, you will continue to do people wrong, hence the multiple reviews indicating the same problem. Not to mention the sarcastic comments towards my grandmothers difficulty walking, extremely disrespectful.

I got a knee replacement from this doctor and I feel very fit and healthy thanks to Doctor Rizek. Before it hurt to walk but now thanks to him I'm feeling much better, I would highly recommend him.

Awful experience the receptionist is very rude and does not even listen. She talks over you as well is very negative. Do not recommend this clinic at all. A knee surgery is a big surgery especially the fact if you are discharged the same day… you need a doctor that is is available and has good communication skills or at least the receptionist if the doctor is not available.
