Surpisingly good and cheap food.Ordered pound of wings for $5 and Grizzly Paw beer also for $5.It is a loud and busy place with modest but nice decor with a lot of old Kernick family pictures from back in a days when Kerniks were nice and humble people.Half of the drink menu wasn't available but it will be next month" as per waitress. So why would you offer new menu now?Our waitress was a bit weird

Calling this a tavern is false advertising, it’s a small, bland group of tables in a seniors centre. Would absolutely not recommend for any sort of hospitable experience, unless you want to be grumbled at for holding the door open (to walk through it) and being condescended to when asking for service. Walked out, didn’t bother.

Sat at the bar for five minutes and barman seemed more interested in talking to a customer sat at the bar. Didn't even acknowledge us despite being only other customers at the bar. Thanked him for rubbish service and walked out. Very disappointed.

What an incredibly disappointing experience. Greasy Fish and Chips (pale generic frozen fries) which I had to wait over 45 minutes for and could have ordered the equivalent meal from a generic diner anywhere. The food I received definitely was not similar to what the photos suggest will be your experience.

We stayed at spring creek and came down to this pub for a cocktail. There were no cocktails. It was very basic. The bartender said his best drink was a Shirley Temple. It was aweful. We thought we'd play pool after the bad drink, but as soon as a staff member got off work he hogged the table with his friends. It's more like a seniors centre and a hang out for the staff's friends. The lights were on full brightness and it smelled like roast beef. This is in no way, shape, or form a tavern. It's a well lit senior's centre with 18 year old's trying to run the place. Don't waste your time and head a bit further into Canmore to the Rose and Crown.

Ordered take out while staying in Spring Creek vacation condo. across the street. Great food and take out service. We had the fish and chips and they were crisp and tasty...worthy of being wrapped in newspaper British style! Very Good. We noticed that their was live music when we picked up our food...wish we had ate in. Lots of great beer on tap as well and salt of the earth staff! Just go!

I just rolled into town from Edmonton with my mom and my aunt. We're staying at the Windtower and I was looking for something close by for dinner. We walked into the Mineshaft at 8pm on Tuesday. It closes at 9 so we thought we were good for time. We sat ourselves and waited for service while the bar at the bar cleaned glasses. It wasn't particularly busy. Another group strolled in and they were eyeing up a dirty table. And that's when the lady at the bar said very loudly and rudely I am NOT serving any more" we sat there in disbelief since we've never witnessed this kind of customer service. We sat there for 20 mins and we're refused service. It wasn't particularly busy. There was 2 tables and the one other table was only drinking. Why keep the door open if you're refusing to serve people??? For the entire 20 mins while we waited all she did was clean and put away for glasses. I had to leave and run back to my car at the Windtower since my mom and aunt both in their 70s were famished from the travel and couldn't make the walk back. We ended up going to Patrinos where there were 2 waitress with 10 tables between them making loads of tips serving amazing pizza and beer. I highly recommend going to any other place in town other than the Mineshaft due to rude and poor customer service."
