The Salvation Army Thrift Store

We always have great shopping here! My mother loves to come and see what we can get and some of the items are very beautiful and well maintained. Always have a great time here and staff is usually very friendly and the place is kept very clean!

I have had nothing but great experiences here until today. I always felt the staff friendly and welcoming, not judgmental, the environment calm. Today however I came in for an exchange, I had brought in the item and the receipts that I had been given, I had been certain to keep everything together when I was trying things on just in case I would have to do an exchange. Somehow, 1x receipt of 4x was missing. I waited aside for other customers to be tended to. I stayed pleasant and patient the entire time, but I was met with hostility and sternness from her. I calmly said that I would go back home to have another look for the receipt and that I would not be making the exchange today, my voice was small and calm. But she made me feel pushed out of the store, unwelcome like I had done something wrong. I feel awful right now. She was rather unpleasant and completely misread the situation. You don't treat someone like that when they are already being agreeable and already offering the solution. I am hurt. I liked this store, now I don't feel comfortable shopping there.

I had a really bad experience with one of the manager Sue". I asked her to price a jacket with no tag and she refused saying she does not do pricing. She refused also to sell it to me saying that she needs to remove it from the shelves and give it to the pricing team tommorow. I asked if i can pay a deposit to hold it til next day she says no we dont do holds. I get all of that even if it didnt make sense that a manager aint able do pricing for a jacket! The main issue is that I was offended by her way of conversation and bossy expressions.When i asked for her name she refused to share it with me and said we dont provide private information here. She then asked me to leave the store after i insisted to buy the jacket that i liked. i told her that she was mean to me and had no customer service whatsoever."

They don't have any change rooms, and they have an exchange only policy. Basically, you have to gamble if something is going to fit. It's too bad. It used to be an affordable place to get clothes.

Awful experience when trying to donate. Two men at the door very angry and kept telling everyone how awful it is that everyone brings all their stuff they don't sell at their garage sales. They refused to take anymore things saying that they have no room for anything. Lots of people trying to donate but being so rude to everyone. Let me remind you, without donations you would not have a store. Will donate somewhere else from now on.

I'm new to Kitchener ( from Nova Scotia) and I've been in the store 3 times now and have had amazing luck with finding a beautiful winter jacket, winter boots and a hoody and they are all in new and clean condition. The staff is amazing. I had another young man be so nice to me also...wish I had of asked his name. I LOVE this store and the prices and I'll be back for sure.I love and support the salvation army. They do GREAT things for Canadians.

Great for house hold items... especially dishes. Smaller inventory on pet supplies . Hit and miss on decor. As for prices... thrive gone up. Today there were not many toys.. kinda sad for those in need for Christmas time. Donate fpbate don't folks... there are so many in need and will be grateful for your gently used items. Seniors get 10 % off everyday... but still prices shouldn't be so high for a thrift since most people who shop here are in real need of items. But now a days lots of resellers are buying up all the decent items and selling for high prices else where making it crucial to keep prices at a reasonable affordable prices despite the scavenging re sellers.

I usually have fun hunting for things and the people are friendly. However, I don't know who they let loose with pricing lately. There was an air fryer for 100 and I don't believe all the pieces were even there. Also used shoes were priced for 30 and 40 dollars.

It's a bit of a pain that their change rooms still haven't reopened but exchanges are easy if items don't fit. Prices are good - around $4 for t-shirts and $8 for pants, for example - and there seems to be lots of selection, at least in women's clothing. I think they gave a 20% discount off a $20 purchase for donating, too

Love the store. Great finds and sales. Staff is very friendly
