June 23rd we hired Custom Fix Renovations to build us a deck.We received a quote, agreed on it and were promised it would be completed by mid August.Fast forward to today.Our deck is STILL not complete. It has been nothing but a nightmare, our deck was unsafe for a month and left without rails for weeks leaving it up to us to ensure our young kids and dog didn't fall off. We had two well credentialed contractors in the area come look at the deck and basically tell us to tear the entire thing off the house ASAP.The owner came and fixed" it after we mentioned the possibility of taking legal action as we felt we had no other choice.Two weeks pass with zero communication or update and I'm now told he's " done and moving on from this."I absolutely despise negativity on social media but refuse to let this go unmentioned for the fear of seeing others go through this.I've made a post mentioning our experience once but removed after the owner begged for us to remove it with promises to make it right

Despite poor reviews I gave Blake Price a call and after he explained what happened in those situations I gave him a shot… he gave me his word things would be completed.Thé job was due to be completed in August of 2021. It’s March 2022 and he’s no longer returning my messages, has cancelled the custom doors that were ordered and paid for- which had to be ordered again because they measured in correctly and they arrived not only the wrong SIZE (by 10 inches) but also the wrong COLOUR.Disappointed. Angry. And now stuck trying to find someone else to finish a job that should have been done 7 months ago.Some of what they did was good and I was quite pleased with it. But some of it… another story, and now this?Overall the crew was unreliable. The guys had no idea what job site they’d be pulled to day to day.There were a couple guys that did great work and I hope this doesn’t fall on them, it’s poor leadership that’s to blame.No concept of how to operate a business which is too bad, because he and some of his crew were decent guys I thought… Looks as if they got greedy taking on jobs that were too much for them and were chasing their tails from day 1.
