Shifflett Guitars

I have been using Chuck Shifflett for repair and setup of our guitars and mandolins for about ten years .I have also brought friends instruments to be repaired or set up.Never once have we been disappointed. Most recently I brought a guitar to Chuck that I bought new at a Calgary music store. At the time of purchase , I was told it had gone through a full complimentary set up. I thanked him , and stopped at Chucks to drop off my new guitar for setup, as I've never once bought one that was done right. Until now, Chuck measured string height etc , and told me it was already almost perfect and all that was needed was a tiny tweak of the trussrod, which Chuck did for me , at no charge. This to me speaks volumes for Chuck's credibility as if he had told me it needed a full set up , I would have paid with no question. After taking it home and played for an evening , I did notice some sharp fret edges not quite right from the factory, I brought it back and a day later picked it up with beautiful smooth fret edges with a very minimal charge.Every guitar we have ever brought to Chuck had come back playing and feeling better than before , much better in many cases.I would highly encourage anyone from beginner on up to bring your guitar to Chuck, as you won't be disappointed in the results. This will be especially helpful for beginners as a properly setup guitar with the correct strings is much easier on the fingers to play, or for older players with arthritis it makes a huge difference .Thank you ChuckSincerely Jeff Kaiman

Amazing work setting up my Taylor 814 ce dlx!It has never played so well! It had a slight buzzing on one of the frets which drove me crazy! he was able to get the buzzing out by adjusting numerous frets. The action is now so soft, I no longer have to use any force as I did before to bar chord. And he was so fair with pricing. I would definitely recommend him above any city guitar dealers setup processes. He is an honest uptight gentleman. Thank you so much!!

Chuck saved my Taylor guitar from major smoke damage from a house fire. He took the time to air out the guitar. Clean and brought it back to the beautiful guitar it originally was. To this day to me this guitar has just got a cool factor. It survived a house fire! Cuz of Chuck's care and attention to detail!
