Burnt Cape brings back wonderful memories. We walked in and we were all by ourselves. Hope they never fix the road......keep it isolated and special.Enjoyed many wild flowers and sat on a cliff and watched seals and whales. It turned out to be a very special day for the two of us. Would love to go back, put on some good walking boots, brings a lunch and binoculars.

Loved this remote place, felt like we found Shangri-la, nobody here but us.

Comment on the road condition:The road to the ecological reserve is a.one lane gravel road with many pot holes. Any car would still be able to maneuver it, except there is a slightly steeper area that has a rather rutted section of tire marks. Pickups, SUVs - np. A smaller vehicle should be able to get up even, but any normal length vehicle would have the risk of getting stuck.Unfortunately I was not able to enter very far into the reserve and had to turn back. I would've had to park and hike in, but by that time of day I was running out of time and energy.Better luck to others.

Okay, so the Burnt Cape Ecological Reserve is a magical place with very interesting rock formations and plants. Unfortunately, the access road is in terrible condition, and you will risk getting stuck if you attempt to get to the parking area in something like a Corolla. We managed to get about half way before we had to turn back, and scraped the bottom on the way down. With that being said, we did park and were able to get some amazing pictures of the local flora such as bog rosemary, orchids, and mountain avens. I love this place and will be back with four wheel drive. Definitely check it out if you're in the area, just tread carefully around these rare and wonderful plants!

Stunning views. You will need a 4x4 with good ground clearance to make to the end of the road. If not, it is about a 3 km moderate hike from the first parking lot. We were blessed and got to watch a Minke whale feeding.

Burnt Cape Ecological Reserve
Very barren and unique arctic landscape. Would go with a guide, as there are no trails and no signage. Lots of neat little flowers that will be researched later. Cool rock formations...if you know how to find them and where to walk (there are some high cliffs).
